i think there is a thief gold fan mission that takes place in Karrath- Din,i know the music was epic and ending of mission was a key hunt type.

That's an interesting discussion!

Also, concerning the tomb in the Lost City, I'm sure you know, but Nuit is the French word for night and is a very appropriate choice with the starry sky painted on the ceiling.
Maybe your french word originates from her name? There is also an interesting ancient (

The other symbol, the human spreading their arms, I couldn't find much on that one that was definitive.
It could be (

was the ancient Egyptian divine personification of "infinity" which would fit to a tomb.
Or this one, which stands for "man":

Ba as Brethren suggested, then
Heh would make the most sense to me. It could then mean something like "the infinite soul" or "the immortal soul"...

One of the best LGS-style FMs I played is (

:)
Yeah, I almost posted that image, myself. The stars themselves caught my attention for sure.

Don't forget that the Bonehoard was also re-textured and brightened in Thief Gold, which is the only change from TDP I really disliked.
Yes. Tim Stellmach said the textures were changed to help differentiate areas from one another, but we never got around to bringing up why they were brightened. Maybe it was to make the player feel more vulnerable.
I've added this image to the last big post, to illustrate what I said there, but I had also forgotten the 4 strategic "blood" spots on Va-Torag's lid:

French 'nuit' has absolutely nothing to do with Nut/Nuit, your word is a regular development of Latin nox, nocis, f.; and cognate with any amount of Indo-European words for night (including, indeed, 'night'). Egyptian, is a Hamito-Semitic language, whereas IE is, hah, Japhetic.

Could this refer to any stellar constellation?

The pattern of the City wouldn't make much sense to me since the precursors couldn't know about its layout. Karath-Din on the other hand could be worth a try. Nice idea ;)

I didn't really expect to find anything, but I had a go, and couldn't find a possibility for Karath Din. For The City, I was thinking landmarks, hills/mountains, a relationship to The River, and stuff the Keepers may have noted even if they never knew a connection to the sarcophagus lid, which, if it was something to mark locations, would need the right starting spot to align to the rest and discover what's there, if it wasn't known already, and the relationship to each other unknown, just the knowledge it's a Precursor site. The head points south, if the spots have anything to do with locales.

Are you certain it's a Thief Gold mission? I am currently playing "The Beginning of Era Karath-Din", which is a Thief 2 mission, but otherwise fits your description. In this mission, which is set in ancient times when Karath-Din was still inhabitated, you play not as Garrett, but as some kind of spy, and you're supposed to get some information from a Lord living in Karath-Din. This turns into some kind of a keyhunt later on, including stealing a key from someone having a drink in the local tavern, and opening a large guarded building with this key.
Karath-Din is restored to its former glory in this mission, but if you have played the original missions in the Lost City, you can recognize familiar landmarks there. (Male players might also remember this mission for female guards walking around with one of their breasts exposed.)

That's one that popped immediately to mind, but since I never played it, I thought it couldn't be that easy, and I couldn't know what I was talking about.
