Doom 2 the game that continues to thrive on despite how long ago it has been since it was released sees a new TC released this week by the name of Action Doom 2.
If you`ve played the previous Action Doom TC a few years back, this is a prequel to that one, taking on a Sin City style. I totally loved it.

HA! that looks pretty impressive, amazing what dedicated super-fans can accomplish with old games like that :thumb:

Phew, a Single-player mod. When I saw the thread title I thought it was going to be like "Action HL" or "Action Q2". I.e. another MP mod.
Skill-building purposes aside, I really I don't understand why so people may would commit to creating a multiplayer only mod. You might put a lot of effort into it, but there's always the gamble of if you'll builf a player-base or not.
Sure, the same can be argued with commercial MP only games, except there's much more at stake than your spent time and effort. Any retail product of any medium obviously, but that's not the point. When something is usually entirely a labour of love, like mods usually are, it just seems even more discouraging.
With single player games, people can virtually always/easily appreciate them years down the road. It's a lot more difficult with MP only/MP focused games.

I agree. Dystopia is great but there are almost no American servers left.

edit

What didn`t you like? It took me a good while to get used to the beat-em style nature to the game. But man the cutscenes are excellent for the Doom engine. And the voice acting was excellent as well. Very very Sin-City-ish.

One litte nugget of info worth mentioning that somehow was left out of the original post:
DOES NOT REQUIRE DOOM 2 TO RUNQuote Posted by icemann
And the voice acting was excellent as well.
If your idea of excellence is a 20 year old trying to sound like a gruff-voiced old bum, yeah. Other than that, I agree with what you're saying. This is very well made, a must-play for anyone who grew up with games like Final Fight and Double Dragon. Lots and lots of references to those old games here, like your ex-pro-wrestling mayor friend Haggar who shows up in the first level to help you out or the plot set-up about badguys kidnapping your daughter. Hell, there's even a car-trashing bonus-stage. :D
It's difficult as hell though, play on one of the lower difficulty levels first time through. And remember to always back away after throwing a punch. And trash everything that looks remotely trashable to find health power-ups.

If you want to take a very creepy route, lose to Bebop and Rocksteady in the subway. (My first time, I just pulled an Indiana Jones and shot them.)

Same here, shot em to death. I`ve yet to do the alternate route. Heard the levels are alot cooler.
