Is there a hack or something out there that lets you use more than the std two mouse buttons in Thief games?
I've gotten addicted to utilize the thumb button on my mouse for the run forward command in all my 1st person games. Back when MS still made their Intellipoint mice, I could get away with it in Thief by using Intellipoint software and assign the thumb button(s) to keyboard commands. That, however, doesn't work with Logitech's or, in my case, Razer mouse software.

If anybody's interested, I found a functional workaround: Thief 2 reads the button in the mousewheel as "mouse 3", and in my Razer mouse's software, I assigned the thumb button I wanted to use to the "Universal scroll" function and presto: the thumb button is now mouse 3 in Thief 2.

The patch doesn't add aditional buttons support?

Could someone with a 5 button mouse or so try adding a binding for mouse_4 or something and test those buttons in newdark?

It doesn't recognize my extra buttons either. My mouse software allows me to associate a keystroke with each button, but that didn't help. It does recognize it in the Controls menu, but not in game.

Just tried it with my Logitech MX620 and the newest Setpoint drivers. With the software I could bind my two extra mouse buttons to keyboardbuttons and both Thief and Thief 2 had no problems recognizing my mouse buttons. Adding Binding to mouse4 in the cfg-file was not successful.
Because I normally don´t use extra software it would be great if Thief/Thief 2 could recognize additional mouse buttons natively... ;)
