Are you saying that he shouldnt be on the team anymore because of his statement?

That is absolutely the wrong conclusion to draw from what he's saying. I have to assume you did that on purpouse, because it's the most obnoxious response you could possibly have made without being EvaUnit02. He's saying that demagogue -- who is ON THE TDM TEAM -- has said the Doom 3 engine is showing its age compared to more modern games, in DIRECT CONTRADICTION to what Azaran said. He even returned to clarify his argument!
Your catastrophic misunderstanding of what Subjeff said is par for the course but no less disappointing.

T2X should be the perfect example for everyone on whether a true Thief sequel can be created or not. It can, it just needs a dedicated team. Anyone who spouts off with "it's not going to happen" doesn't know the history of the Thief community and FM creation. And with New Dark, there are more possibilities than ever.
An FM is not a true sequel. It will not happen in any kind of official capacity. The only reason a fan game can exist is they're doing hundreds of thousands of dollars of labor for free, and using pre-existing engines/assets for large portions of the content.
Commercial products have to make back the money they pay their staff (you know, since they typically don't do work for free), not to mention engine licensing fees, merchant cuts, manufacturing, marketing, etc.
So a "true" Thief sequel? Not happening. The guaranteed built-in audience isn't large enough for that kind of financial risk. You know it. I know it. Moltar know it. Zorak know it. Tansut know it. Brak know it. Lokar know it.

"One" FM is not a sequel, but the community could produce a sequel if they had the will and the time to do it. It doesn' need to be "official".
It's not that the official EM team has received the investiture by the Builder himself. The EM developers are not gods, they are common mortals
as everyone else.

An official sequel and a true sequel are different things. I consider T2X a true sequel even though it is not 'official'.

That's right...T2X is a true-spirited creation, because it integrates itself within the true THIEF Universe...thus honoring integrity, regardless of legal impositions.

T2X is more of a sidequel, really.

It also plays a little fast and loose with established canon and as a fan-made FM campaign is not canon anyway. Good job deluding yourself though.
