There was an interesting phenomenon I noticed while trying to play DX like "Thief-Expert Mode"(ie:no fatalities).
There was a room with some off-duty troopers sitting around a table(4 of them, I think). I had managed to avoid detection, and was crouched behind a crate in the room. I didn't want to cause a commotion and raise an alarm, so I decided to the troopers locational noise detection AI to use. I equipped a zyme vial(it makes alot of noise when dropped, and they're stackable), and threw it across the room. To my great satisfaction, the troops all stood up and faced the source of the noise. Shock prod, prod, prod, prod. 4 troops taken down with out any notice.
The tactic worked so well, I was able to beat Area 51 with no human fatalities! (I wanted no fatalities at all, but unfortunately I learned first hand karkians are not stunnable.)
To make this tactic more effective, max out your cloak and run silent augs so if anything does go wrong, you can make a quick (and undetectable) getaway.
I have found this to be the fastest way to take down MJ12 commandos and MIBs, who can be very fierce opponents when roused.

Wow another ultra-stealth non-lethal player... Those are rare. Not to mention the hardest to play. I also finished the entire game non-lethaly. Even Gunther and Anna, and SIMONS. of course to make them unconscious i had to be a little mean... :mad:. Even robots i'd disable with my Level 4 spy drone... the only thing that i actually killed were Animals. the Grays, The Karkians and the Greasels. <IMG SRC="angel.gif" border="0">

Wow. I knew you could get Simons and Gunther to run away like scared rabbits, but Anna? Spill the beans (in the spoiler forum might be best).
I always like rendering Gunther helpless before his big speech in the cathedral -- it's a riot when he turns tail and runs after he's done bragging. ;)

I definatly wasn't thinking about non-leathal take-downs when I fought Anna, Gunther, and Simons. Anna was easy to take down with a few slugs to the head from the autoshotgun, same with Gunther, and for Simons just used the explosive rounds on the autorifle. :D

On a boat I was jumping around and landed on a dog.. It got PISSED! I shot it but the owner wasn't too pleased... :) I always jump when out of no where I step on a rat that makes the loud squicking (sp?) noise..
