Heh heh. Great question. I didn't mind stepping on kitties the first time, and listen to them spit, but if you step on them twice they die. I felt AWFUL. So yes, now I always reload.
About the subject of this thread. Are you talking about those 4 soldiers in the missle silo map? Whenever I get to that part I cringe because it's so tough. I've always tossed in a gas grenade, but they become alert for the short time it takes before it explodes. Sometimes one of them will make it out the door and shoot me. Even if they're all inside, I take gas damage when I go in to shoot them. I get by that spot, almost always taking some damage but my method has always seemed so unsubtle, and I hate solving things that way.
Another place is in Maggie Chow's apartment. In the little break room just off the sword room, there are soldiers there that are impossible to sneak past (since they are facing both entrances). Sure I throw in a gas grenade there too but again I take damage PLUS I always alert the guard patrolling outside. Another unsubtle solution by me.

To do Maggie's apartment I used the back way to get to the roof(before talking to her) and did a batman through the skylight. Knocking her out, I busted the window, and lept to Jock's apartment. The guards(and her maid) were consideably pissed off, so I waited till they calmed down, and then proceeded up to the roof again. I then used the mini-crossbow with tranq-darts to take out a guard at a time. It took a while, but I got 'em all, and with almost zero damage.
Anybody else have some cool tips for non-lethalithy?

In real life cats move out from under your foot, if not, yes they do diserve to die.

*chuckle* I hate to admit it, but there is one cat I always make a point to step on... Ms. Chow's.
Side note: Anyone know that if you get stepped on by someone, you take damage? In the warehouse where you need to take out that generator, I was kneeling by the ramp and one of those buggers trod on my head. Needless to say, I was surprised, both by my taking damage and by his not even noticing what he'd trod upon ;)
