Just wanted to report back on this. From December 2021 - August 2022, I must confess, I barely worked on this at all. last month I'd say the castle was about 20% finished.
BUT... the last few weeks I have put in about 100 hours of work and made a TON of progress! The castle itself is now probably 90% finished with the brushwork and I am reaching the point where I need to start working on objectives and gameplay. Then I'll circle back for detailing out some areas. Really excited about everything added the past month!

Please throw a little garbage here and there in the "outside" regions: they look too clear and smooth.

Thanks for feedback. Yeah I was thinking of adding a few extra things in that opening area. Though my outside is very large for effect so I can't add too many objects due to lag.
For example, here is same outdoor area from different view. All the trees you see already cause a bit of lag due to how large and how much there is to render.

Outside is mostly just your pathway to get to the buildings. I made it large for effect because I like large outdoor areas in games. It's mostly empty, not to say it's not worth exploring a bit :D, but you will forget about the vast mostly empty outdoor area hopefully as the meat is all inside.
