That said, what games are coming out that resemble LGS?
Gone Home (and uh, that other game they're making that I can only remember as "Gone Home In Space"). Penumbra/Amnesia (the good one)/SOMA. ArmA. DX:HR and T4 .
Routine. Ultima Ascendant. Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah, Dishonored, Prey 2 (if it's still being made). The Elder Scrolls. Bethesbryo Fallout. Alpha Protocol. Alien Isolation. Mass Effect and BioShock, to varying degrees. Miasmata. Sir, You Are Being Hunted. I guess the newer Far Cry games if you could imagine a version of LGS that made one very small slice of content and copy/pasted it until they ran out of storage. E.Y.E., although I don't particularly care for it (then again I'm listing games based on influence rather than quality). Did I mention Minecraft? Minecraft.
I'm not even going to get into every single first or third person action game that has some sort of RPG-like system integrated into it, whether it's actual skill levelling or an inventory or an economy. Or every game that makes an attempt at having an AI-driven ecosystem. Or games like GTA and its legion of clones where the developers give you a bunch of tools and systems and let you do what you want.
I think it might be harder to find games that don't have strands of LGS in them than the other way around.

Suppose it depends on what part of LGS you're hoping to see, but for me one of the things I loved most about Thief and Deus Ex was the stealthy gameplay. So I'm very happy to see stealth becoming such a common, mainstream element of games in recent years. LGS isn't the only developer we have to thank for this, but they are one of the main ones.
Anyway, Jason listed so many I hardly need add more.

It's a really good article, it's gaming journalism done right. The guy went around doing proper interviews with a multitude of people and finding quite a bit of "not in wiki" level knowledge. Also, the side articles are huge and could easily stand on their own.
Alas, I think this will just spoil my enjoyement of the next heap of inevitably bland stuff.
