whoever's narrating those makes me embarrassed to have clicked them.

Amercian McGee is a complete hack who does nothing but high-concept bullshit. 'Alice', art direction and sound/music aside, sucked and his subsequent games have seem to be, I've only played 'Scrapland' and one of the Grimm's, even worse.
That all said the concept art looks ace and I don't actually want him to fail since a great game using 'Alice In Wonderland' as source material would be welcome. I just don't hold out much hope.
Gameplay wasn't that great but the atmosphere was irresistable in a children songs can be scary kind of way.

Thing about Alice is that it looks and sounds amazing but is totally boring to actually play. I've tried to replay it a few times but I think all I want is to watch someone else do it.
THE EMPEROR IS NAKED !!!!!
thanks for doing it for me. it's a lovely game, beautiful art direction and songs, atmosphere and animations but I don't like "platformers" that much, I would rate Psychonauts much, much higher.

American McGee is the fucking dry hump of the gaming world IMO. One good performance (Alice) followed by abortions like Scrapland and Grimm?
I have no idea if Grimm is good or not since I have no intention of installing yet another third party application to play one game, but I thought Scrapland was better than Alice was. I still don't fully understand why Scrapland never got the praise BG&E did when it's the same damn game with Hitman instead of Splinter Cell mechanics.

I do like platformers and still think Alice is poor. Psychonauts is certainly a far better game.

All the praise that people heap upon BG&E has very little to do with gameplay and more to do with it's particular charm and characters.

Scrapland is a hundred good ideas that just didn't work.
Racing around with the "tractor beam" could have been awesome. But it wasn't.
Hitman-like stealth could have been awesome. But it wasn't.
The interactions between the various stereotypes could have been interesting. But it wasn't.
Exploring all the different environments could have been awesome. But it wasn't.
The story could have been awesome. But it wasn't.
But I still love it, for some reason. I think I just play it imagining the game it could have been ...

Have you spent even ten minutes with this shit? No offense if you like his stuff, but c'mon. My 6 year old has better game ideas than this, and could likely execute them better as well.
A Burton/Elfson Alice movie would rule though. :thumb:
Alice was amazing; I actually threw Bad Day L.A. in the trash--then set it on fire. I thought about pissing on the blaze at one time, just for a symbolic exclamation point, but decided that would impede sending the awfulness to Hell where it belonged. I've not played any other McGee games.
...might actually stand on line for that movie.

Is that so dark you can't see it? On my end it is.

Plus, why waste perfectly good urine on Bad Day in L.A.?
