Wow, I may have to get this. I will wait for some impressions to roll in, of course but I am keeping an eye on it. Sure Alice wasn't perfect but it was interesting enough to warrant attention.

OH U.
Isn't it ironic that I'm the only one who cares, considering I generally dislike 3D platformers? Couldn't even be bothered to play the first one.
I've been watching an LP and evil teapots sold me - combat finally begins to look interesting. Still not sure about the general art direction though, and the levels seem rather linear. Plus the animation is off when you begin to run.
[Edit]Okay, I just saw Hysteria. Holy shit lol wow what.

Join the 2010's and buy a 16:9 monitor already, or just make peace with the fact that it's been a common symptom of console ports since ~2006.

No and... not really, sadly. I'm pushing through it, but weirdness and outlandishness isn't enough when the game's boring and repetitive. The platforming's solid enough and the combat does give some dose of satisfaction, but it's all so... by the numbers. It all feels gamey and samey and dull, and not like a messed up adventure in a sick girl's mind is supposed to feel. There are some moments of demented brilliance, but they're very few and far between.
Pity, I loved the first one.

I'm about three hours into it and am finding it quite good. I don't remember the original very well, but I think the gameplay in Madness Returns has a bit more variety. I also like how many of the enemies require specific tactics to defeat rather than just woodchopping. The shrinking and tele-dodging are great additions, for both the platforming and the combat.
