Alice... 2? Is that you? - by Digital Nightfall

There is some incredibly beautiful stuff in this game, and some of the fights are genuinely a lot of fun, especially when they combine different enemies together which require very different means of being dispatched.
But the whole thing was just too long and repetitive, I found. I think it took me about 15 hours or so to complete the whole thing, and if that had been 10 hours I would have loved it. As it was each level dragged on and on and on, and every time there's a new idea or mini-game you go, "ooh, that's nice!", and then start cursing it when it returns again and again and again for no apparent reason other than to try and pad out the game length.
Also several of the levels felt very generic...like the ice world, and the fiery metal factory place. And even the rather beautiful Eastern mash-up level didn't really feel right for the game to me (though I've seen many places praise it).
But then some levels were just so weird and surreal and twisted and nasty and gorgeous it would suddenly make the game worth carrying on playing, whilst also making me think, "the WHOLE GAME should have THIS kind of imagery".
So there you go. Beautiful yet dull. Poor Alice. What have you done?
