Played it with a friend of mine and some friends of his, had a blast. I died early in one map and spent the rest of the round just guiding everyone via text chat. I've been nicknamed "Tank" for the effort.
Another time we were stuck in the sewers until I figured out you had to blow up a control panel. I basically did most of the leading, probably 'cuz I've played the UT2K4 version so I was more familiar with the mechanics.
Sorry I didn't go play with you, Ducky, but after we were done we'd had enough, and my internet was shitting the bed a bit anyway. It's a great game though, and I'm pretty sure I recognized Vegas... ;)

Shame you only seem to be able to play the first mission offline, I'd be nice to have the option to play it solo (I know, why would I want to do that, eh?). Take my time and savor all the little details.

MrDuck, from the main menu you can just bring down the console with tilde (have to enable the console from the tickbox in the mouse/keyboard menu first), and slap 'asw_show_all_singleplayer_maps 1' in. Then when you click play offline you get a level selection/difficulty menu. You don't level up when playing offline, unfortunately. And the command seems to revert to off whenever you start the game, so you're probably better off sticking it in an autoexec.cfg in your ..\steam\steamapps\common\alien swarm\swarm\cfg folder.
Couple of other commands of note are; 'openserverbrowser' - so you can actually see ping times of servers etc; asw_custom_skill_points 1 - haven't used this one yet, apparently it alters the game so that at the end of missions you get a few points to spend on your stats, like in the ut2004 version.

Aye Ducky, sorry about last night, I went to bed. I haven't slept much at all lately. Work and lack of sleep, make for poor gaming. Lack of sleep is whats killing me. :bored: Its offline mode for me. What energy I do have is spent keeping tabs on Black Cat and Steam for the time being, trying to be of help where ever they need it. I was drafted for a voluntary moderator over on steam........joy. Its not so bad, really. I just weed through what posts I can, I cannot keep up anyway, the amount that is posted is like a gazillion every second!! Maybe thats why I'm tired. :P
I might be in one of these days, I'll let you know. :)
