That headline is bullshit and pretty typical of Kotaku.

Make the game even harder by adding a Z-axis to make it easier to miss, and restrict your vision to a 90-degree arc! Brilliant!

I had a terrific playthrough with Bob_Doe_NZ tonight. We should definitely play again some time, mate.
Definitely recognised MrDuck as Vega, when his accent slips through.

I finally gave it a serious play a few nights ago with my brother, sister, and sister's friend. I think I enjoyed it more than Left 4 Dead, actually. Hope I can join some of you guys for a game some time. :thumb:

Im cherryheat on steam, up for alien swarm. Would it be smart to setup (or is there already) a TTLG steam group? could instantly see who's playing.

There's already two groups: (

I'm up for a game, Steam name is 'codename_milo'. Have finished the campaign on Normal, and a few separate levels on Hard. Tried and failed to complete Timor Station on Insane though, after very nearly finishing three times.
Has anyone else tried enabling the Director in a campaign? Prepare for even more craziness using the command 'asw_horde_override 1'.

Yeah, it certainly adds some intensity. I tested it by myself, and upped the max spawned to like 150 and got a random horde of about 114 IIRC. (you can look at your console to see how the game is creating the horde.)
They all seemed to come from the same direction though, and come in a large group (or at least most of them)... but then, that's how l4d does it too I guess. Although, the horde can come from different directions. Actually, come to think of it, I believe the game spawned a huge group of them, but not all of them at once. The rest followed suit the next time the game called for more aliens.

Just discovered a nice homage to LGS on the first level. Have a look in the first breakable window you come across.
