So after playing a load of Alien Trilogy, I was wondering what other Aliens-style games are out there? Not just the Alien franchise, I mean- I own both AvP games for PC for instance- but games that are essentially Lawyer-Friendly versions of same? Like Natural Selection for HL1 (which I don't like) or Alien Swarm. Something like that.
There was this old arcade game from ages ago that had a similar concept and used a light gun- I wish I knew what the name was. It was old enough that I remember it from back in the very early 90s- before Alien 3, even.

Quake 4 - has sections the where marine squads are crawling around in dark claustrophobic hallways, with rifle mounted torches. Aliens jump out at them.
Gears of War 1 & 2 - Quite a few sections. Eg when you first encounter the exploding Reavers in the first game. The run down laboratory level in the second game where an AI is taunting you.
The Flood from Halo.
System Shock 2 obviously.
Dark Sector has quite a few Aliens-esque levels, where you're up against infected. The Glaive takes back seat to the shotgun.
Cryostasis, period.
EDIT:-
Oh yeah, Doom 3.

Is it actually possible to find games that AREN'T inspired by Aliens, at the very least? Cameron, whatever else he might have done to the series, pretty much redefined gaming with A2.

Area 51 is decent, nothing special but not bad either.
edit: The Thing could be just what you are looking for

Most of those examples aren't quite what I'm looking for. I guess what I'm asking for is the base Aliens experience- setting, situation, etc.- but with names changed. Again, Alien Swarm is a good example, but I also just thought of Alien Breed.
Found the arcade game I was thinking of, the rather appropriately named Space Gun.

Is it safe to assume DT that you have played AVP Jag?

Unfortunately, no. Never owned a Jaguar, and emulation is less than stellar.
A friend of mine might be willing to give me her old Jag though.

*Shrug* Natural Selection?
Alien Shooter 1 & 2?
Space Hulk is pretty much WH4k ripping off Aliens. The two old EA games might be up your alley.

I already mentioned Natural Selection. Played Space Hulk. Will have to look into the Alien Shooter games though- are they any less boring than Zombie Shooter?

I think it's time to re-watch Aliens
