What about
Lost Planet? Should be fairly Aliens-esque. I'd like to know what TTLG thinks of it actually. I ordered it a few days ago, for 360, 12 bucks, play.com.
I suppose if 70% of Aliens consisted of fighting the Queen over and over again, with 50% of the film spent driving the power loader mech.
As for the game itself, it's a lot of fun. Very old school arcadish, with you fighting big boss bugs.
The plot is utterly incomprehensible, so best to just ignore it. The in-game save system is pretty non-existent, you have to pretty much have to play each mission in one sitting and the missions can be quite long.

Alright that's pretty much what I was hoping to hear. :)

i liked lost planet as clumsy as it was for me to control, the big giant bug and mega-mech action was awesome. and while the story is ridiculous it's a lot of fun and I loved the cutscenes, they were so bad but in a good way. I can recommend it. I hope LP2 will be even more over the top in that manner.

As far as gameplay goes, it definitely will be. But I believe they maybe leaving out a silly SP campaign this time, all the media attention seems to be on how they've crafted an engaging co-op MP experience. Eg requiring team coordination to down bugs and the like.

I've dloaded the demo from PSN. the co-op multiplayer component is very much like L4D I think. you can play it single player and your teammates are bots. But they're not really any smarter than your average npc. And the battles are pretty epic.. the demo ends with one of those colossal akrids that you have to battle with your VS till you incapacitate it enough to crawl inside of it sans VS to destroy its heart. Pretty intense stuff. Not GOTY or anything but I can tell it will be fun.

I just thought of another game that rips off Aliens. Clive Barker Presents: Clive Barker's Jericho.

And now it's out and I've been having a blast with it on my 360. Although bordering on repetitive, what it sets out to do it does brilliantly. Starts off forgiving and quickly becomes a frantically atmospheric fight for survival.
Anyone played and care to pass comment on the co-op?

Goddammit, it had better be an optimised port to justify the delay. Also put the fucking Worms games on Steam and GoG.com already.
