That trailer was equal parts too-fast-to-see and holy-shit-awesome!:cheeky:

That's still better than a controller. If only slightly.
For FPSes, any sort of analogue aiming >>> digital aiming.

Seems there's hope for AvP3 after all. Shellshock 2 and Rogue Warrior were worked on by a different Rebellion studio.
Quote:
Bottom line, Rebellion's Derby studio (formerly Core Design) are responsible for Rogue Warrior and Shellshock 2, Rebellion's Oxford studio are doing AvP3.
AvP's had far longer development time than either of those games, and was in fact in production concurrently with both of them.
Between AvP1 and this one, the Oxford studio has developed Dredd Vs Death, Rogue Trooper (not to be confused with Warrior) and Sniper Elite, as well as a bunch of smaller/mobile games I've never heard of and a couple of ports. But we do know that some of the devs working on this game are new to the company.

So Rebellion Oxford made Rogue Trooper and Sniper Elite, both are considered to be very good games.

You kind of made a grievous mistake in your first line there, you might want to fix that before you get pooped on

Metacritics tells me a different story.
AvP will probably be an okay game, but that's not good enough for me to warrant a full price. I'll probably wait for the next holiday steam sale and get it for 10 bucks.

Shut up, fuck off, and go play Rogue Trooper and then come back and try and say that, poopsmack. Seriously, you do not know what you are talking about and neither does Metacritic.

rogue trooper is a good game and a bad metacritic score is usually an indicator for greatness, not failure (exaggeration but true)

If Metacritic is an amalgam of multiple reviews, forming an objective consensus, why is it less valid than the opinion of a single gamer, i.e. you?

It's not per se, but I think a lot of people have been pleasantly surprised by Rogue Trooper despite the middling score it received. I know I was. Dredd vs Death was a bit of a disappointment - competent enough in what it did, but a bit of a waste of the franchise.

if you look at the metacritic score it's an average of all the reviews they can find on the various "review" websites they feature. Now remove all scores that come from my cousin's grammar school newspaper written by the 8 year old son of an nintendo employee and suddenly you get totally different scores. The site is just ridiculous, they just print everything they find. Hell, we could all make up some fake website, do a .... say ... Rogue Warrior Review with 10/10 and artificually buff the game's review score. It just tells you who has the most money to manipulate such services (see the whole Kayne&Lynch - Gamespot scandal). Now and then a good game gets out but how do you find it amidst of all the dozens of supposedly "good" games featured on Metacritic that get their reviews from the "xbox endorsement magazine" and "ea games are the shit fanzine"
