You do realize AvP Jaguar came out before the first PC game, right? Same devs and everything?

Sorry, quoted the wrong part of ZB's post. Meant the first paragraph.
People were discussing QTE's? (
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/ultimate-experience-aliens-vs/61320?type=flv) They're definitely there. See the monitors in the background of the talking head footage. Tim Jones discusses a "rock-paper-scissors" melee system, factoring in reaction time. Marines obviously don't have one-hit kills like the other races, just rifle-butting them away like right-click in Left 4 Dead.
Also a demo has been confirmed.

Left 4 Dead-style co-op? That looks like it could be lots of fun.

I was just looking at the co-op survivor trailer, and those aliens really do look incredibly slow-moving compared to the original game. But maybe the player speed has been similarly reduced? It seems a bit weird, anyway.

Well..... hopefully thats what mods can fix. Minor point, but why the hell have the designers added glowing things to the shoulders, knees, shins and feet of the marines armour? I mean, nothing adds to a camo effect better than glowing in the dark, for fucks sake.

Yeah, that's why I could never take Splinter Cell seriously. A stealth game in which you creep around in the dark with a big glowing triangle on your head was just a bit too retarded for my liking. (That said, I did grab a cheap copy of Chaos Theory a while back, seeing as how so many people liked it... I'll get around to playing it some day...)

I used to play it all the time, but didn't realize it was the same developer team. Interesting.
I remember how saving your game would randomly repopulate aliens, so if I saved in an elevator, sometimes I'd load the save only to instantly be attacked.

They want Marines to be seen, not able to hide in a bush and snipe. Perhaps it's not realistic but it does make them visible.

An unfortunate necessity of cartridge saves being limited to 128 bytes.

Hm. I find that kind of odd, since it should really only be relevant in PvP, and then only in Human Vs. Human - in any case, hiding in AvP games has always been kind of laughable, since Aliens see your Aura and bushes don't hide you in the pred's thermal vision.
Sitting in a bush sniping usually results in a headbite or spear to the chest.
