Come on Yakoob, the thread has a list of connection woes which are definitely the devs problem, you waltz in say you have the same problem AND x, y and z.
How does it not seem that x, y and z are related to the other issues? I know you mentioned the ini hacks, which kind of claws it back into "I know it's my problem" territory but still...
DLing now.

captains log. 2010. somehow the ability to join multiplayer games in a decent amount of time has been lost. the planet is in peril. What happened since 2000 ? where are the game servers, why do people put up with this ? technological progress has come to a screetching halt, some would even say suffered a complete 180.
soon the simians will take back the world and rule supreme.

Ok, its quite nice. New gfx are good, power of Marines and Aliens seems well balanced. I didn't get to play the Predator. Where was the big auto-aiming gun though? :(
The lobby is arse. It takes ages to match you then sticks you in a game even when you haven't clicked Ready. I was trying to change species you pricks!!!

Thoughts (based on one game as marine):
It's a LOT slower paced than the original. You move slower, and the aliens move a lot slower. The devs seem to have balanced this with a way, way shittier flashlight (the doom 3 approach), closer-in level design, the aliens blending in to the surroundings a lot better, and the muzzle flash / recoil shakes from your pulse rifle making it quite difficult to see what you're actually firing at once you start shooting. I basically held the trigger down until the leaderboard recorded that I'd killed something.
It's pretty difficult to tell from the multi, but I didn't see many aliens using the ceilings or walls much. They can wall-walk, right?
The pulse rifle doesn't sound beefy enough to my ears, which makes it seem underpowered (its clearly not though, because you can waste a predator with less than a full clip. Well, maybe he was already hurt, I dunno). The pulse rifle grenades now fly in proper arcs like a grenade launcher should. The smartgun, however, is a fucking killing machine - the tracking is still a little loose, so the aliens seemed to be able to evade my fire quite effectively at range, but the annoying lag to target aquisition is gone. If somethings there, the gun snaps onto it damn quickly.
It looks pretty, and the marine glowies aren't annoying or even that visible. The predator effects seem nice, the aliens look suitably menacing (and are the right size, which is very important. They seemed too small in AVP2, but here they properly tower above you, bus-stop tall with gleaming silver teeth). I wish they had gone with the classic giger look, but still, its a good effort. The nest effects look top notch, I thought. The aforementioned gun shaking and fire-spitting made it pretty difficult to get a good look at the predators, so still don't really know what they look like...
You can't crouch, it seems. You don't really want to, I guess - moving around slower is a good way to get a tail shoved through the back of your head. Seems weird but it's not that big of an issue.

The aliens can wall walk but they have a new system which is far inferior to the original AvP "cling" button. When you reach a wall you press to "transition" or you can have auto-transition on. And I can't see a way to drop of walls or jump off them as easily as I could in the original.
I never found the smartgun :(

The Smartgun is in a large room on the upper level, on top of a ledge by a wall. It's got a very cool HUD effect.

I agree with this post. I really like how the aliens are stealthy now, forcing the Marines to be cautious and not simply spray and pray since the recoil and muzzle flash will cause you to lose sight of your target. I've seen a lot of aliens use the wallwalk, and I have too, since it's very easy to use and makes you a much harder target for the typical FPSer used to shooting in two dimensions.
