no, plain old fixed line via cable. no fibre channel speeds but good enough for any other mp game. And what do you mean with "rest still works". I didn't find out how to just play through a map without going online......there's no local server am I right ?

I thought the matchmaking (PC) was acknowledged as broken (with a fix out)?

What the fuck are you on about? Nobody in this thread (or possibly the entire internet) has ever argued for Steam being the only option, you twit.
Actually I thought I was being charitable- Sega (and various others at various times) opted for Steamworks and Steamworks only which is, well, rather stronger than simply
arguing for it, yes?
If I were just disagreeing with you for the sake of it I'd use your "I hope everything comes with Steam" [in order to annoy certain Steam sensitive sorts] out of context every time you mention it.

God dammit even you're not usually this fucking dumb. I'm talking about real people like
you and me, the actual consumers of video games, not the companies who make them. Please, try to come up with an argument that isn't a fucking copout. Saying "well some companies use Steam exclusively for some games so HAHA YOU'RE WRONG" is asinine.

Anyone know how to turn off the voice chat, it seems like everyones mic is constantly on in the lobby, i have to take my headphones off till the game starts every time as theres horrably loud noise.
sNeaksieGarrett on 9/2/2010 at 03:09
Yeah, that's quite annoying... You ever hear like a continuous screeching sound building up from someone's mic? Ouch!

Yep. That happens when people use speakers - everyone's mic has some voice, so your own mic picks up their noise, which in turn makes someone elses mic pick up that noise, which then in turn is picked up by the next person's mic, reinforcing and amplifying all the noise up to an ear-bleeding-inducing screeching. that is why volume-level activated communication is a terrible idea

I have that problem in borderlands big time. My friend and I that always play just open up a voice chat using steam and then play the game. Works good if we both use headphones. no feedback.

Ah, the definition of "nobody" does not include companies or their representatives,
and they also don't count as being part of "the entire internet", either. And I'm somehow meant to *know* that those are your- and I use the term loosely- definitions of "nobody" and "the entire internet"?
Or in other words what you meant was "[probably] nobody [on the entire internet, excluding the most obvious people that argue for Steamworks on the internet- they don't actually count towards the nobody specification only average joes do] argues for Steamworks". Well, yes.
And you wonder why you seem to get into arguments so regularly?
