Right, they push AvP3 first and if it fails in sales, THEN A:CM will be canceled for good. So hurry up everybody, go buy AvP3.

isn't gearbox known for squadcontrolled "tactical" shooters with a little fps thrown in ? I can't see them put the emphasis on survival fps ... more on the usual - check room, setup mates, let shooting commence until you can flank.
not that I think they don't have the chops to pull off a good Aliens game, i just think it will be very different

How the fuck do you flank something on the ceiling?

Heh. That sounds like a line a Hudson-type character would say.

AVP1
Scarier
Better lightning
Not scripted
AVP2
Better story
Better level design
Entire Alien life cicle
Multiplayer is cool

I'm pretty sure that's only applicable to the BiA series. Otherwise, they're mostly known for doing the expansions for the original Half-Life, IIRC.

Actually, that's not even true: AVP1 was heavily scripted too, but because of its lack of narrative, it's just not as obvious as in AVP2. Besides, it's not as if the enemy placement was truly random.

It's not scripted the way most video games are, yes it constantly spawns enemies relatively close to you, but not around the corner, they are spawned so far away from you and in logical-enough spots like air vents that the fact it's scripted doesn't actually permeate your experience at all.
