http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Giffen) Keith Giffen vibe from that trailer -- no surprise as Rocket Raccoon is actually one of Giffen's oldest creations. I'm reminded of Giffen's offbeat space adventure stuff he's done for DC over the years (which includes Lobo if that name rings a bell.) I might actually go see this.

More on-topic: I did quite enjoy that trailer as well - the teaser was quite decent too ("What a bunch of a-holes!"). Not really knowing anything about the Guardians from a comics perspective, that's a good thing.

Well it was a lot better than the last trailer at least.
I like the Cowboy Beebop/Firefly misfits-in-a-ship thing they are pushing. That at least makes me more intrigued.

I just can't cope with the silliness of this. I also like the misfit vibe but it's just too cartoony for me. I want to like it but I'm going to have to go watch Upstream Color again instead :(
