This game sounds exactly like the sort of game I would like. Shame I missed the steam sale, £25 is prolly too high for me to bother buying it. It probably won't run that well on my laptop anyway.
Maybe next time its on steam sale.

Unfortunate. AP certainly had it's bugs, but it certainly didn't deserve the panning it got. A lot of the criticism was just failure to understand the mechanics, and while buggy, many buggy games don't get panned for it.

It's TOEE and Arcanum, of course. One is a bland and souless examination of the least interesting aspects of tabletop RPG- D&D combat porn, basically- and the other is a game with great ideas implemented so badly you have to wonder what they were thinking and if they ever bothered actually playing the game themselves. Bloodlines makes up for the turkeys though.
The real reason why Troika died and Obsidian survives, apart from both of K2 and NWN2 selling far more individually than all three Troika titles together, is that Obsidian has managed not to burn any bridges with publishers which Troika did with every single oublisher they worked with.
As for that Eurogamer 'article'- short as it is it pretty much sums up everything wrong with games 'journalism'. Faux edgy with about two facts in the entire thing and they manage to get one of the facts wrong (sheesh, even I've heard of RDR).
