Didn't you use to bitch about the lack of selectable gender? Personally, I'd like to see that sort of thing make a comeback.

If you love RPGs but are tired of swinging swords or slogging around in spacesuits, you’re in luck. Obsidian Entertainment is drawing on its Fallout and Planescape: Torment roots with its new espionage-based game Alpha Protocol. Drawing on the three J.B.s for inspiration—Jack Bauer, Jason Bourne and James Bond—the developers are giving players plenty of different ways to tackle problems. You can rely on brute force, stealth or gadgets to accomplish missions, and also navigate through a nuanced conversation system. We’ve got the world-exclusive first look at the game in our April issue of Game Informer Magazine...

SEGA AND OBSIDIAN SET TO REDEFINE THE RPG GENRE WITH ALPHA PROTOCOLInnovative New Modern Day Espionage RPG Will Set the Bar in 2009SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (March 13th, 2008) – SEGA® of America, Inc., SEGA® Europe Ltd. and Obsidian Entertainment, Inc. announced today a new espionage role-playing game set in the modern world - Alpha Protocol™. Developed by award-winning development studio Obsidian Entertainment, makers of smash hits including Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II The Sith Lords™ and Neverwinter Nights 2™, Alpha Protocol is slated for an early 2009 release for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Windows-based PCs.
“SEGA is very excited to be introducing a new type of gaming experience to next-gen consumers,” stated Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing for SEGA of America, Inc. “With ground-breaking new RPG action and an interactive storyline matching the best spy-thrillers, Alpha Protocol delivers a true next-generation RPG experience.”
Loyalty carries a price and no one knows this more than agent Michael Thorton. A talented young agent cast out by his government, Thorton is the only one with the information needed to stop an impending international catastrophe. To do so means he must cut himself off from the very people he is sworn to protect. As players determine how to accomplish different objectives, the decisions made and actions taken in each mission will ultimately transform the type of secret agent Michael Thorton will become. Every choice the player makes as Michael Thorton will carry consequences for his future and the fate of the world.
“Alpha Protocol blends Obsidian’s knack for intricate story, engrossing characters, and significant character advancement with fast-paced modern combat,” said Feargus Urquhart, CEO of Obsidian Entertainment. “Alpha Protocol embraces everything we enjoy about making RPGs from a fresh perspective. We are confident our talented staff at Obsidian will enable us to deliver this exciting RPG experience.”

Weren't DX guards half-blind half-deaf imbeciles with severe ADD?
I always pretended when you sniped their patrol mate, and they didn't care as long as it was silenced that they HATED that bastard
anyway and it would have only been a matter of time until they did it themselves.

What about "epic" and "extreme"?
Did I miss something, or did they forget to use the two most important words of all?
Wow, maybe they are trying to distance themselves from EA Edmonton.

Reminds me of something a friend used to tell me all the time about his favourite part of Perfect Dark- you shoot some guard through the tiny view window of a door, and another guard comes up, looks at the body, and says, "I never liked you anyway."

fake edit: they should make the main character female and leave in all the girls and the ability to bang them.
Now that
is a new and interesting sales pitch. Tell me more.

Lol, I almost forgot that A Flower in Hell is gay.

I don't think any men would argue with my proposed design change!
