A thread for the games that, so far, noone has cared enough about to make their own thread for.
The Division

I love the feeling of realism in this, and I'm not just talking about the graphics. It has the same casual un-dramatic mundane every-day vision of the future that Children of Men presented. And the sci-fi stuff doesn't feel like impossible future-magic, but instead it's stuff we almost have today. The map, the "hud" and the menus could easily be explained as AR, viewed through the main characters Google glasses (or similiar system). And the way he talks to his teammates is undramatic and casual, like when you're voicechatting with friends in a co-op game.
Hmm, in fact it's a bit too undramatic considering that they're being shot at. My guess for a plottwist: the people we see in the video are just avatars grown in a lab, controlled by the players sitting at home behind their computers. Meta!
The Crew
<embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/kkKJg08kApw?hl=sv_SE&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed>
Man Ubisoft are on fire right now aren't they? FC3 was amazing, and judging from this, The Division, and Watch_Dogs, their winning streak is not about to come to a stop soon. I love the look of this, rarely do you see driving games this ambitious. The cities are no doubt condensed versions of the real things, but the scope of this thing is still enormous. Looking forward to just driving across the continent, and judging from the music in this video (Sleigh Bells!) I'll have some cool tunes to listen to while doing so. :)
Mad Max
<embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/4ja47hx9RDs?version=3&hl=sv_SE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed>
Avalanche Studios (Just Cause 2, Renegade Ops) are making a Mad Max game. I think it goes without saying that this will be the bee's knees.
The Walking Dead - 400 Days DLC
<embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/icXre05VFx0?version=3&hl=sv_SE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed>
One episode broken up into 5 short stories. This will be either great or not great. One of those two.
AND THERE'S MORE!
BUT I CAN'T BE BOTHERED POSTING IT!
WHY DON'T YOU LAZY BUMS GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND DO SOME VIDEOPOSTING EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE HEY THERES AN IDEA

Aside from MGS5, The Crew is the most impressive title I've seen thus so far. The developer Ivory Tower is formed out of the ashes of Eden Games, developer of Test Drive Unlimited 1 & 2 - so you see where the game's DNA comes from immediately. Reflections, developer of Driver and Stuntman, are assisting with development.

Meh. The "projected HUD onto the environment" thing has been a signature gimmick of Tom Clancy branded games' visual presentations since Splinter Cell: Conviction.

IT'S A PSEUDO-MMO MULTIPLAYER GAME. You aren't witnessing some scripted SP campaign, it's supposed to be a simulation of a MP session. Those "characters" are players talking over in-game voice chat.
Anyway I don't understand the fuss. This game is literally a waist-high shooter version of Borderlands/Diablo/Dead Island/ARPG LOOT LOOT LOOT game X.
The group PvP element has caught my eye though, it'd bring a new dimension to the ARPG co-op LOOT LOOT LOOT formula.
Hard to believe that this game is from the developer of World in Conflict.

Yeah, The Crew really caught my eye as well. I'm not a massive racing fan, but I like what I've seen about it. Also, in the video I saw of The Crew, there was a scene where some players were chasing a target and had to ram it. That reminded me of the Driver series. I also liked that you could go off-roading too.

Ah, so there is definitely a correlation there. (Just saw your post after writing the above.)

If it makes you feel any better henke I watched through half of The Division before realizing the voices were meant to be co-op players, not NPCs.
I'm a sucker for open-world RPGs and post-apocalyptic settings so I'm extremely interested in that game in particular. The competitive multiplayer component looks like it could be a significant twist on the Diablo/Borderlands formula.

Bah, I liked my explanation better!
Yeah the actual gameplay isn't exactly mindblowing though.
Nice to hear there's such talented folks behind The Crew. I liked TDU1 & 2, and I
loved Driver.

One vehicle based game. One! And a fairly populist one at that. This henke post is not meeting my expectations.
henke on 12/6/2013 at 05:56
Two! I'm guessing you didn't look at the Mad Max video. There isn't any actual gameplay in it but I think it's safe to assume that there will be vehicles in a Mad Max game.
Unless they're basing it on Beyond Thunderdome. :eww:
Muzman on 12/6/2013 at 06:03
Since it's probably a Just Cause clone it's not vehicle based, it's....eeeearrrr...Vehicularly Dependant. It's different!
(anyway if this game doesn't have cobbled together gyrocopters and planes and long fights on high speed junker trains I'd be sorely disappointed)

I have to say I was quite impressed with what I saw of Destiny (particularly compared to Titanfall, which I thought was quite flat):

Which is odd, cause I highly doubt I'll ever play the game; no interest in multiplayer shooters, really.
