I used them twice in Thief 1, once on that metal bridge in lvl 5 and at the end of the last level. I've never used a single moss arrow at all in T2. I just find a dark corner and jump up and down till the guards hear me. Once they walk close enough I lean forward and blackjack them. I've never had to use one to sneak up on or past anyone. Most guards are so dumb that you have to be running on tile 3 feet behind them before they even turn around anyway.

No you aren't, and in fact many do not use any arrows or potions or other equipment except the lockpicks. The exceptions are those mission that require one or the other to specifically activate a "secret" or such.

Well, T2X taught me not to rely on water arrows, so I hardly use them. I never really used moss arrows anyway.

I use the moss arrows very rarely. McFake has a point; there've only been a handful of FMs where the AI was so alert I ended up relying on the moss arrows. They are handy though when you have to try to hit a red 'activation' button at a distance.

Occasionally I've used them. I like to crouch and creep, *careful*......see too, how quickly and silently I can get across the floors.

I never use moss arrows. I have found that if I step forward, count to 3, and step forward again, I do not make a sound, and I can move almost as fast as if I used them.

I use 'em to experiment with different approaches. Sometimes I'll shoot one at the sky, and watch it erupt on the "ceiling" and the pieces fall. Sometimes the moss arrow comes down and can be picked back up.
I use 'em to on the ground behind a standing guard AI to jump down behind it and blackjack it.
If you're experimenting with boulders and heaving them around for target practice, you can have 'em land quietly so no one interrupts you. Okay, that last one I just made up.

Yes, I use them for that too, as they don't make a sound.
:)
I sometimes use them for jumping down onto a noisy surface, or if I have to run through a well lit noisy passage, but apart from that I normally just sneek very slowly.
I'm far more likely to use a water arrow every now and then.
