An alternative Minecraft server. - by june gloom

That proves nothing brah.
And even if it did, people say shocking, offensive stuff in jest all the time (whether it's funny or not is a different matter.) Orson Scott Card and Doug Tennapel are actual bigots.
Seriously, go find some other thread to shit in. Are you bored because they took down your favourite lolicon website? Is that why you're doing this? Seriously, what are you getting out of this other than feeding your own ego?

Notch has always been a loose cannon and embarrassingly creepy or antisocial with his comments; his jokes are always flat. And who was the TTLG guy that knew him from working QA for Wurms Online? I believe him when he says Notch was an ass to work with. But I think (1) his OCD or whatever it is did make Minecraft as obsessively designed as it was early on, probably to its benefit IMO (and I usually end up thinking he's made respectable design decisions, even if I'd have done it differently, or I'm skeptical at first but then I see it works better in-game than I thought, e.g., with the hunger system); and (2) you don't have to give two-shits about him anyway to enjoy playing the game. So there's not much to really talk about here.
I never wanted to bother reading his tweets anyway because it's not worth it. He's not like early Warren Spector or Randy Smith where I genuinely want to read about their design ideas because they know how to communicate them in interesting ways. For Notch he could keep his mouth shut & just let his work speak for itself AFAI'mC.

I hope you've got a couple of server backups handy, Deth. :(

FUCK ME RAW I CAN'T FIND THE BACKUPS.
Everyone whose username I don't recognize = banned.
Let's clean this shit up.

BLLAAWWWW!
Eh. It ain't the end of the world. Just give us all a couple of treasure chests full of wood and stone, so we can rebuild that much faster. Or make a community store, so we can all help each other out.
In the meantime, if you want to find out who did it, check the logs and see if there was any one person on the server by himself for a couple few hours. Whoever it was had to have a goodly chunk of private time to do what he did.

Some of us have been talking.
What do you guys say to a complete server wipe? Raze the place over and begin again. The server keeps crashing, making clearing this shit extremely difficult.
Let me know what you think -- I want to build consensus before I hit the big red button.

It's easier to rebuild than start over and a lot of stuff is still in tact, the roads, the nether, Sxerx's tower, but I don't doubt it's a pain to rout out the lava, and the biggest loss is of course your own fortress. I could go either way; if there's broad support to reset I can rebuild. I think if we do reset though, the latest MC release has jungle biomes which look really cool (and cats fwiw), so I think it'd be cool to go ahead and get on that version (link: (

BTW, some other stuff I built that's fine...

I'm of the same opinion. I am fairly attached to our current world, but not so much that a reset would completely ruin the Minecraft experience for me.
Consider me in the either/or camp. Though if we do reset, I vote we start fresh in a snowy, mountainous biome.
