And now ... Glenn Frey - by Queue

Mott The Hoople drummer Dale Griffin also passed away today at the age of 67.
It's certainly not a good month to be a famous musician from the 1970's... :erg:
In all honesty I've never been a huge Eagles fan; not because I don't like them ('Hotel California' is damn amazing and the few other songs that I remember hearing are also decent), I just never got around to listening to them for some reason. Of course their greatest days were well before my time (but then again that goes for many of my favourite artists!), but I have a feeling that they must have been much bigger in the USA than they were in Europe.
I actually watched a documentary film about Eagles only a few weeks ago, and promised then that I would check out some of their music. Well, of course I didn't - I'm lazy and forgetful - but I suddenly remembered that I've got some Eagles greatest hits compilation on vinyl lying around somewhere, so I think that tonight would be the perfect time to find it and give it a listen.
RIP all the (relatively) young dudes... do I win the worst pun of 2016 award for that?

Honestly, I dread reading the news or putting the TV on these days. R.I.P. Glenn.

I am already so done with this year.
Rest in peace, Mr. Frey.

This year continues to suck. I'm dreading when Tony Iommi goes - he's been battling cancer for a few years now and they're done touring. Too bad I'm not a Stones fan... Keith Richards will probably outlive all of us.

We all go and it is never pretty. He had some greatness shared though. By all means listen to some of the early Eagles. It is well worth it. There are songs like "Wasted Time" that never got air time but are so spot on and poignant. And "Life in the Fast Lane"? Please. Never a better song to screw to. Yeah. Death. Punch it in the crotch for me on the way down. I'm going to live forever.
