That's just wicked, I especially love some of the effects like the reflection in the blade and stuff.
I'll watch it again when it's not daylight though, some of the detail was lost for sure for me because it's quite dark generally.
I can't imagine how much work and love went into just that short bit, let alone how much effort it would have taken to make a full-length or even short film.

Aye, it took me about 4-6 months to make even this 2 and 1/2 minute of footage. Quite a nice way to teach myself After Effects though.
If we ever do a campaign for the DarkMod whatever animations I do for that will be of a much higher quality, aiming for something that looks better than any of the thief games' animations.

Fantastic work, Godismygoldfish! Excellent artwork and animation all around!
The first shot of the candle with the title: The shifting shadows in this shot are outstanding—particularly in the reflections on the candleholder. In my experience with "Rustmonkey-style" animation (I've toyed with it a little myself), it was difficult enough to make a single, moving shadow. But a host of dimming, fading, flickering shades is way beyond what I could ever come close to managing. I'm very impressed. The flame looks so realistic I can't decide if it's hand-animated or live-action.
The next shot of the hand removing the lockpick: Exceptional lighting and shading here as well. I like very much how the "shine" of the lockpicks fades up and down with the light.
I'd do a shot-by-shot review of the rest of the film, too, but I'd just say the same thing over and over: very nice artwork, excellent lighting, fantastic film. :thumb:

I love it! The final shot is really sweet! Love the slow motion.
Can't wait to see more of this sort of video. Very similar style to the original Thief briefings/cutscenes - one of the best things about Thief.

Thanks! :)
Look for some great new short films from me later this year, with the hope (:D ) of a feature within the next few years.
