Tocky, this one's for you:
Now that CNN and Joe Biden have said it, you now have permission to condemn ANTIFA's activities and it falls within the range of acceptable opinions for you to say things slightly negative about them.
Or does your previous logic still apply here and Joe Biden/CNN are stormfronters?
BTW I decided to do what you won't and Google "Tim Pool Stormfront".
I only got one result linking to a video where they were just using it as a newsclip. There was only one comment expressing an opinion about him:
I don't need anyone's permission to think. I'm not for violence on the left anymore than on the right but I take offense at your smearing antifa and even the whole left with the few bad apples. Being against Nazis is not the bad thing you make it out to be. Get this straight, you ignore all the violence on the right to focus on the few occasions on the left. You hold them up as some sort of AH HA! Then you say that because of them we are going to have a civil war. Right. It's not because of the gun nuts building bunkers and preaching hate but because of a handful of antifa. Do you want to see links to Tim Pools articles on Stormfront? I don't want to link them and give them further traffic but I can. Do you want me to? Say the word. Tim rags on those who are against the hate they preach. Do you really think they don't love him? Tim claims, like you do, that it is the left who are spoiling for a civil war. That is the same as the stormfronters do all the while preaching hatred of the left while purposely ignoring the hypocrisy just like you.
I can google too. I got more than one result. BTW what about the photo of Tim with right wing nuts that Starker posted? I noticed no response to that. Say the word for the links.

To be honest, I already kind of suspected that Tony doesn't know how to google things.
Tocky on 8/7/2019 at 02:45
Tony knows how. He also knows how to cherry pick to support his "them liberals gone kill us all" narrative. None of the ones I found were the one he mentioned though I didn't go through them all. I've said before that crap sickens me and I don't enjoy being sick. I reckon You Tube algorithms have funneled him more and more toward right wing loony sites and have damaged his perspective. I'm sure it happens a lot. It's a self indoctrination from all those choices along the right side to click next. All my algorithm choices are Dust and rock videos. That is another reason I don't want to mess up my choices by viewing stormfront crap. I still haven't seen all the Dust videos. Those are amazingly good SF. Rarely ever even a mediocre one.
edit: I don't get any of my news from You Tube. That is the most worthless form of news. They have "news" supporting flat earthers FFS. I'm sure there are pearls of wisdom on You Tube. About as many as occur in oysters. No sane person sifts through that much crap for a pearl.
Oh and the next time you click on a Tim Pool video take note of the sort who is watching them. Just go to the comments below and that will tell you all you need to know. Ha. I had an argument with some idiot defending the Charlotte car driver who ran over those people. He said it was because he was so scared. I pointed out there is video of him slowly positioning his vehicle and getting a running go. Do you think it made a difference? No. He hadn't even seen the news video. He based all his reasoning on right wing You Tube defense of the murderer sites. Completely useless to argue with the nuts. As useless as arguing with Tony.

The thing is, though.... he doesn't. He can work Google, he can scan some articles, but when he finds something he thinks he can use, he almost never pays close enough attention to what he grabbed to confirm that it's valid evidential support of his argument. His attempts to cherry-pick are consistently foiled by his inability to present things that both a) are relevant to his point, and b) hold up to scrutiny. It might make sense to
him, of course, but as we've seen with other users like Goldmoon, that doesn't mean it's going to make sense outside of his head.

Okay, people. Dumping on Tony can occasionally be fun. He's dangerously overconfident, smug, tightly wound, and assumes far too much. All these facets of his personality, coupled with his complete refusal to admit any mistake, especially when it's right in front of his face, make him an exciting target when he inevitably misinterprets something, undermining whatever point he was trying to make.
I get the appeal, people. I really do.
But let's not gang up on him, huh? It's okay to take his arguments apart individually, but don't go around high-fiving each other every time you do.
It's unseemly.

I only said that Tony didn't know how to google, because the alternative would be quite a lot worse. But point taken, Renz. I'll try to be constructive, then, to make up for it, and lay out a couple of basic things about googling to show why I think Tony is bad at it.
So, why was Tony able to get just one result where I got 34 results on my first try? To google things effectively, you need to be able to narrow things down as well as exclude less useful results, and Google gives you quite a few tools for that. For example, encasing (a part of) your search in quotes is a good way to do it, because it searches only for the exact phrase within the quotes. However, you have to think a bit about what to search for. Would the phrase be something that's actually used? In our case, "tim pool" is a good enough of a specific phrase that someone would realistically use and that would exclude quite a lot of irrelevant results, so let's use that as our starting point. But we need to be quite a bit more specific than that and search its appearance on one particular site. Luckily, Google has a syntax exactly for that purpose. For example, to search TTLG, you can include site:ttlg.com in the search and it will only search this domain.
Just these two simple things will improve the results immensely, though this doesn't necessarily mean that Google is able to find all the results and it might actually be a better idea to just use the site's own search engine. Of course, that still leaves being able to critically evaluate sources and to comprehend them, but that's a topic for another day.
Now, the question remains, did Tony know all this and was simply too lazy to make use of it? When he writes that Tim Pool is one of the co-founders of Vice, does he just not know that it's not true or does he knowingly lie to add prestige to his source? He keeps doing things like these again and again and it makes it really difficult to gauge whether he just doesn't know better of whether he is being deliberately misleading. I've been inclined to take the more charitable interpretation, but even the most disinterested of my students have eventually picked up on at least some things through sheer accident or constant repetition, and Tony has had these things pointed out to him over and over and over without any improvement whatsoever.

Am I allowed to say that Trump is retarded on this site or is that too much of an insult to those with mental handicap?
Renzatic on 9/7/2019 at 02:40
We prefer you say "brain damaged fuckshit" if at all possible.
