Is TTLG about to become a cult which sacrifices snarky members to beckon the return of the ancients?

Don't worry about it. You won't live to see them come down the ladder.

Oh God, I certainly hope so. It's become far too tame around here lately.
Welcome back, Stitch. <3

What a welcoming site. I don't think I've ever felt more welcome ;)

Christ that site has to be close to the record for the time a site has been continuously online and completely unchanged.

Why would you change zombo.com? You already can do anything there, so there's really no way to improve it.

I can say that for me, personally, there really is no such thing as lurking at TTLG. I'm all or nothing when it comes to my original internet home
For me, I stopped poking my head in around here for two reasons, one of which is relevant to this thread and one that is not. The one that is not is this: I moved across the country, got a more demanding job, fell into other projects, bought a house, had a kid, etc.--the usual developments in life that pull you away from a forum. I never "quit" TTLG and never will, but I found myself frequenting this place less and less.
And, of course, there's the fact that dethtoll was the single most destructive poster TTLG has ever had, and I lost interest in participating in a forum in which every thread was choked by his presence. He's a decent guy on his own and I would be happy to share a drink with him at some point, but for whatever reason this forum brought out the worst in him--I refer not to his two-fisted posting style or his constantly flaring impotent rage, but to his utter inability to recognize when
enough was enough. Strongly worded opinions add color, strongly reworded opinions are boring.
All of which I told him, of course, but dethtoll is nothing if not thorough, and there wasn't room in his world for anything resembling moderation (or self awareness, for that matter). And so TTLG sank ever further under dethy's oppressive weight, as thread after thread devolved into "people reacting again to what dethtoll thinks." It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but it also wasn't very interesting.
And so he now departs amidst a flurry of drama (although I don't believe for a second that he's not reading every word in this thread). Everything is everyone else's fault, of course, and he just couldn't walk off into the sunset without one final misguided screed. Which is only appropriate, though, as anything else might have implied some growing up on his part and dethtoll has always been more fury than fable.
Well cheers, man. May you live out your days in happiness somewhere far away from here.
