The map from mission 10 (Trail of Blood) is titled:
RECONNAISSANCE MAP
"Beck O' The Wills"
Could anyone tell what does "beck of the wills" mean?

If I was to take a stab at it, I'd say 'Beck' meant 'Beckon' (As in to call someone over) and 'Wills' as in Will-o-the-whisp (In fairy tales and the like they were orbs of light that attracted people off beaten paths at night, usually to their doom).
So roughly translated, 'Call of the Will-o-the-whisps'.
That seems to make sense considering where Garrett was going in that mission.

RECONNAISSANCE MAP
"Beck O' The Wills"
When I saw that at the time, I briefly thought of the Will O' Wisps, a staple adversary throughout the Ultima series.

When I first saw that, I assumed it was just some crazy Mechanist jibba jabba and gave it no thought.
But now that I think about it, could it perhaps be the Pagan name for this little village? To me it seems to fit in with their peculiar dialect more than with any other group in the Thief universe.
Of course that leaves the question of how the Mechanists would have learned the Pagan name for the area, let alone care enough about Pagan names to write it down.

Now is a good time to remember that The Hammers/Mechs were traditionally a militant people. Of course they knew everything about the Pagans. They knew Pagan verses almost as good as the Pagans themselves.

yeah I always assumed that was the village name. It's the only explanation that makes much sense. Why would they just write random pagan stuff on their map?
It says Recoinassance Map Beck o' the Wills - all it needs is a colon and it's definite.
