"CoInitialize (NULL) failed" problem

Hi everyone,

Any help on the following would be appreciated.

I can't install Deus EX. I get the following message:

CoInitialize (NULL) failed (00000001)
History: WFilerWizard::OnInitDialog<_WWindow:: WndProc<_WWindow: StaticProc<_WDialog: DoModal< Setup

I did a search for installation problems, but nothing seems to tackle this directly. I tried coping the contents of my disk onto the c: drive and installing from there as recommended in other installation threads, but it doesn't work.

The funny thing is that I was able to install it once before, about 3 months back. My system specs is as follows: HP 833mHz 256mb RAM, 30gig HD, w/ ATI Radeon 32mb SDR. The only changes from when I had successfully installed it was the ATI Radeon and and an additional 128mb of RAM.

I swear I don't get computers sometimes.
