Dyald's right, the guards have improved. And the beasts are a nightmare (for me at least; I like to use my sword when I'm not being a bleeding heart to humans  <---Yeah, sure). I'm still not very good at pickpocketing these ultra-sensitive people with purses (since it takes too much time to figure out and they give an effing annoying yell when they notice what I'm doing. So, I KO them and when their down, I give them two or three more whacks for good measure :sly: heh heh). So, how about you guys?
If they have seen you at all, you need to wait awhile before you sneak up on them to pick their pocket.

I just finished and it was fun! The
ghostly treebeasty creatures were excellent.
It was a bit too spacious for the objects you had in it in some places, but overall, a good first mission. The fireplace in one of the mansion rooms (dining room?) was really beautiful! Thanks very much for the mission and I'll look forward to your next one!

yeah really nice job on those treebeat like creatures,
invisble, yet glowing, and those green eyes when you get close is freaky, not to mention the heart pounding sound, although they still had roar like treebeast and sound when you hit em, but very well done. i like when they go poof when they die, lol.
I'm ghosting, of course.
I got into the baron's pad (I think that's where I am) bass-ackwards: I snuck into the Hammerite temple, found the elevator in the chapel, strolled through the "treebeast"-infested caverns, then climbed up a ladder into a building.
So anyway, I found another elevator that has four floors. I can't open the elevator door at the top; on the first (bottom) floor, there's a servant-guard right in front of the elevator door; the second is where I came in.
The third floor looks promising... but there is a watcher looking the way I have to go. Even after I turned off the light with a moss arrow, there is too much light for me to head down the corridor without the watcher spotting me. On my right, coming from the elevator, is the control room for the watcher; but again, there is a servant-guard right in the doorway, and I can't go in there. There are a couple of rooms to my left, but aside from some loot, I can't find any way through there to the rest of the third floor.
Is there some way for me to turn off the rest of the lights in that area so I can sneak past the watcher and around the corner into the rest of the third floor? Or some way into the watcher control room, past the servant-guard, to turn the stupid watcher off? I'm pretty stuck here; I can blackjack the guard, but that busts the ghost, of course. Or finally, is there an invisibility potion somewhere that I can grab?
Also, in a (patrolled) room on the second floor, where the combat bot prowls the corridor outside, I found a switch behind a desk -- but I have no idea what it opens. Any help?
Thanks,
Dafydd

Dafydd - I think the elevator door key is
on the third floor. I couldn't find a way into that control room without being spotted either so I ended up alerting the guard to get him out of the room, but that won't work for you. I really doubt that this one is ghostable but if anyone can do it, you can!
The switch under the desk
just opens and closes the secret door you came through when you entered the house from the tunnels. That's the way I got in too. As far as I can tell, the only other entrance is through the front door and that's pretty tough.

Because of the nature of the way the mission ends, I'm not sure it can be ghosted, at least not on "Hare" level. The key that you are looking for is on a belt of a gaurd near the place that you are stuck. On the esiest level you have two less gaurds in that area and one less on the mid level.
Yeah, I "gave up the ghost," as it were, and I'm just finishing the level straight.
Oh, it's definitely not ghostable: because of what happens at a particular point, Garrett is required to break some boards... which busts the ghost. So definitely can't be ghosted, unless there is some way to trigger the cage without being inside the cage, or rescue the damsel without triggering the cage in the first place.
Hm, that might be worth trying sometime....
Edit: Hm. Finished, but I missed a secret. I also didn't get into the "abandoned inn" to find the telescope... I'll look through this thread to see if anyone left a hint :weird: .
I did manage to kill all the thingies, except for one who was undamageable down in the tunnels; not a ghost, of course, but I was able to complete the mission while taking no damage. (I found the armory right at the end, naturally.)

I've heard of this problem with the 'undamagable' thingies
in the tunnel, I've tried to find him many times and couldn't. Sometimes, however, I notice that you have to score a hit in the right place on the mesh, it may take a few tries since the mesh is invisible you can't see the outline properly. Just keep swinging and try to keep behind them.
I know what Dafydd is talking about as I ran into him too. I followed him all along the hallways, slashing but didn't do any damage and was also totally ignored by him, as well.
Dafydd on 14/10/2004 at 20:38
What Nightwalker said. I was running behind him, cutting cutting cutting -- I slashed him in the back at least ten times. Each time gave out a loud "thunk" noise. He completely ignored me.
He stopped; I crouched and fired a fire arrow, which passed directly through him and hit the wall behind him. I shot three more fire arrows, each of which did the same thing. Oh, he did react to the explosions; he wandered close to take a look at the pretty lights.
The particular thingie I mean is this one: In the room with the big pool of water, there are two side tunnels. The one on the left has the Mechanist rooms; the one on the right leads to the ladder into the Baron's mansion. There are two thingies in the tunnel on the right: one in the ladder room itself, and one before the gate. The unkillable thingie is the one before the gate, the one who occasionally patrols into the water-pool room as well as the tunnel.
All the others were easily killed with a single (unalerted) sword stroke or a single fire arrow, alerted or unalerted.
Nobody has any help how to get into the deserted inn, or where I find the second secret (besides the obvious secret, which you need to find to get into the mansion)?
Edit: Nevermind, I found both. The deserted inn is just down some stairs from the street on the east side of town, into a room, then up an elevator; this leads eventually to the room with a purse and the telescope used by the Peeping Tom.
The key in the mansion -- the key supposedly stolen by the maid -- is actually inside the very room that it unlocks. I noticed the overhead beams lead right into that room... it's just a little tricky to get onto them. Once inside the room, I found the second secret in the mission.
