NM about my previous question, just did a little researching and realized that 2.1 was the version that I needed. Guess that's why I never played it. :nono: Well, I'm off to download then. I have high hopes for this mission. :thumb:

Very soon, (maybe tomorrow/wednesday) I will be releasing a new update, the file will be smaller and the miss should be a little harder, and more asthetic. so if you havent downloaded it yet I would sugest you wait until I post again with a notification.

I just updated Damsel in Distress to ver. 2_3 it is at (
http://thiefmissions.com/) thiefmissions There are some changes to terrain that affects the gameplay. Fixed some textures and skins. There were some files that were either redundant or unused that freed up over 2mbs when removed. Metal Dawn and I searched and found/fixed all the floaters. The 'monsters' now have their own AI {except for the mesh} in the list and even have new sounds. The expert level is much harder than the easy level.
now for some hints and tips about the updated version.
there are a few bottles of holy h20 that can harm the 'LightBeasts', but you might not want to waste your water arrows, fire arrows still cause damage. It is possible to complete the mission without having to fight them since you can no longer take them out with one shot/hit. There is a way into the guardroom above the manor gate without going through the gate. There is a way to get to the third floor in the manor besides the lift. It comes out in a good spot too. Try to save as many moss arrows as possible for the top floor of the manor, if you find yourself being slain, try placing moss arrows in strategic places before setting off the trap.
If you have already played this fm you should be able to notice the improvements, if you havent played it but have downloaded the previous version then I would strongly suggest you DL this one first.
Thank you all and have fun.

Hi, all. I am playing this GREAT mission on Hare and I'm about to tackle
the third floor. I just read the previous post stating that there is another way to the third floor besides the lift. Can someone please give me a hint as to where I can find this? I'd love to be a little more protected going into this area and, according to the previous hint, it's a better area than the outright frontal assault.
Thanks so much for the help. Happy taffing, everyone!

I'm not aware of any other way to reach the third floor (and beyond) by any other means. Unless there's been a major update I'm not aware about, which is unlikely, since I've tested it since V2's inception.

In Dyald's post announcing the latest version he says there's another way to the third floor but I haven't played it yet so I have no idea what it might be.

There is most definately another way up to the third floor
check out the ballroom
the top floor though, still has only one, I think metal dawn might have the floors mixed up.
