Has anybody ever seen this before? I hadn't.

Any idea what caused it?

That's the message that is displayed when loading a savegame fails, but it's usually a HUD message and not a separate screen. I just tried to load a save in that mission and got the same. I was able to fix it by setting the Dark Mission Description parameters (which were missing) in DromEd, but that requires moving the goals.str as well. Just a minute and I'll repackage a working version for you.

Oh you don't have to trouble yourself, it was only a fifteen minute mission and I finished it already, although I guess you might send one to the guy at thiefmissions.com to replace the download.
The load error was more of a curiosity to me than a problem. Thanks, though.

Okay. For anyone else's future reference, just set the Dark Mission Description to "20" and "miss20" (per usual) on miss20.mis, then move intrface/german/goals.str to intrface/miss20/goals.str.

You only get that interface screen when loading from the menu (i.e. not a quickload), and in that case that omission used to cause a crash. Another improvement made by NewDark.

Ok this is weird I am getting the same screen on the new Life of the party it says that my save was successful but it won't load??? This happened on quick save and regular save?? I recently lost my Hard drive and I am having to reload everything!! Also Life of the party is starting when I try to play the original missions??

kdau what do you mean by this? where do you find the Dark mission description at?
EDIT: I just tried Thief1 original missions and got the same screen?? I just finished loading everything and playing both of them before I loaded DarkLoader now I can not load any saved missions in either??WTFreak is going on??

It's a dialog box in DromEd. But I just checked LoTP: Winter Edition, and it's set correctly there. (It's the sort of thing that was often missed in the early days but all authors know about now.) And, per your edit, certainly the OMs were all fine too. Instead, you probably have missing or extra files somewhere in your Thief install. For example, see if there is a strings\missflag.str file and, if so, delete it.

Update: I loaded it up with FM selector and I can save and load all saves. I must have a messed up install of DarkLoader?
P.S. does FM selector work with Thief1/G?

Hmm. Yes, you might want to reinstall DarkLoader if you want to keep using it.
FMSel works fine with NewDark T1/TG. If you used TFix to upgrade, it should be all set. If you're installing NewDark over T1/TG using the NewDark package directly, remember to rename thief2.exe to thief.exe and to include the dark1 option in your T1/TG cam.cfg.
