I've only got one fire arrow. That doesn't seem to be enough. I've tried hitting it about 20 times with the sword, but to no effect.
How do I get the loot...
Hmmm...
You start with 3 Fire arrows (2 of them gets used for 2 secrets). But in one secret has a fire arrow in it. This one is by the Guards' Training Room. Oh, and just for the record. You start off with 2 invisiblity potions. I'd always use one for that training room to get the gambling room key (playing it on Death Wish only). Save the second one for Christine III's ghost. And as for that painting, the rope arrow does work. It's just very tricky. I'd always quicksave before doing this.
This time around I'm playing on the middle difficulty. I don't know what happened to all the fire arrows. I probably wasted it on something and saved. I have no idea why I can't get into the silver gear room that's just to the right of the control room. For some reason that gear isn't working. Is it possible that door is the same door opposite the elevator that I can't open? Maybe I don't need it after all.
I was very proud of myself after getting that loot at the painting.

@ The inscrutable po:
Finding Christine III:
Bring up your compass. As you enter the curtained room from the teleporter you will be facing NORTH. Now following your compass, go WEST young taffer into the second room (you will notice that the compass will actually change), so now still following the compass, enter the SOUTH room, this should put you where you need to be, a room just off of the one Christine III is storming around in.
Killing Christine III:
If you wait in the shadow of the room you entered, and using the run key and your sword, run up behind her and start whacking away (she will continue to move in a circular fashion, so make sure you reamain behind her as you attack. It will take several strikes with the sword, but eventually she will go up in a puff of smoke. Her sword will remain, but it's only an apparission, not the real one. Finding the switch in one of the statues is a bit tricky, again if memory serves, looking from the room you entered it's the statue in the far left corner, and you have to frob it somewhere around knee high. It was at this juncture where I first used an invisability potion in order to get Christine III real sword.
Room to right of control room:
You actually need a "gold" gear for that door. Sorry, don't remember where I found it.
Thanks. Those directions helped a lot for finding Christine. I ended up finding all the secrets, but I'm short about 500 loot. I did get the loot at the picture and behind the force field. I still have the silver gear. I never came across anything else I could use it on and I never got that one door to open. Very strange. I wonder if the last of the loot is behind that door.
I also thought it was very strange that I never got lucky in finding Christine. I went to all the other transporter locations more than twice.

It's here...
In the back yard, on the frustrated Mech.
About that silver gear...
That works for the east wing of the estate (read the note by the door). You know, the one that has the picture of Christine III with her magic sword. Which is a clue to the hidden library. I wonder if anybody took notice of that.
So, are you saying that you have not found Christine III?
As for the loot, have you been in the gambling room yet?
The inscrutable po on 17/11/2007 at 04:15
I found Christine by using the instructions you posted. I think it's odd that I didn't just stumble across her on my own.
I've been to the gambling room and I'm still about 500 short on loot.
The silver gear problem is resolved. It's just a case of the gear not disappearing when it's used. It stays in the inventory. I finally got the bronze gear from it's place and that got me through that door that never opened. All along I had been thinking that I must have all the gears and that I must have used another gear because I had assumed the gears disappeared after use.

If you don't wanna fight, just wait for the next levels.... they are fearful
The best for this FM is playing the first time in Sissy difficulty all (free to kill), then replay it in Death Wish, without killing anybody.

I didn't think she was that hard to defeat, especially if you have some invisibility potions. Stay behind her and whack away.
The guards with the guns miss if you get right up in their faces. You can club them to death eventually if you press yourself right up against them because it's rare that they'll hit you. I think it helps if you're a little off center. The sweet spot for taking a hit must be dead center on Garrett.

Thanks for the advises :D, but I've already finished it for two times, as I said.
It's my preferred FM, far and away.
