Sorry to bring up an old topic but...I can't seem to play the last level...after I killed the trickster and move onto the next level, I go on to the next level...loads...and kicks me out saying "Illegal shutdown" whatnot...I tried reinstalling the game/fanmission file/and computer, but it stil kicks me out...am I missing some scripts or do I have some broken version? I DLed off the fm archive of keepofmetalandgold.com:(

Cool, it was an old problem... Me too I had this, after one entire play in basic difficuly level, I want replay it in the maximum. And at that point the game crashes... Maybe GORT will put in his head to fix this bug :P.
Anyway, what you think about this mission? Is the better FM played from you or not? :) Surely GORT inspired himself for the making of cyborg to Terminator (metal skeleton and red-eye cameras) and Robocop 1 (breaking out from the wall)... Genial workout!! And genial enhanced layout of the futuristi city!! (see the enhanced light halo of the lampposts) And the second level.... that newage atmosphere with that falling to the ground leaves...
At last, I still have some (superficial??) question about this mission: i understand well english written, but not that spoken: what they says that hammerites in the wood in the 2nd level?
And how the Mechanist reached to reconstruct not one, but SIX Constantine, starting just from some piece leaved in that cavern where Garrett and him fighted??
Stupid questions, I know it, but like in a film, I wanna know everything about it :)
A little off-topic: GORT, i'm wrong, or your painting in the Estate wall is also in Calendra's Legacy??? But that mission is of 2002, while TROTB is of 2006...
More: this is the ONLY ONE FM that I found also on eMule :) neither Calendra's Legacy is there... nice to see that's appreciated!

Uhhh, which painting? If you are referring to the one in the main hall, I don't know. That painting is orignally in Thief 2. But if you're talking about the one in the east wing, no. I've created that one myself and along with the other paintings in there.:)
About that conversation in "The forest of Despair". Mainly, it's about the Christine Estate. Here's they were saying...
Hammerite 1: Good evening.
Hammerite 2: Alexander, I thought I'd spy thee there.
Hammerite 3: Ahh, my son. I've had not seen thee for a moon's passage or more. Where has thou been?
Hammerite 2: What speaks you this moon's passage garbage? I saw you last week, you old drunk!
Hammerite 3: Their High Priest professes to be a Savior. Fickle foolish nobles to be so seduced by mere bobbles. Now they hang false icons in our halls and speak not but false prayers there. I've even heard creatures not of the builder roam the upstairs halls, ahhhh, tis a sorrowful time indeed.
Hammerite 2: I, I. I've seen some of these creature. Some of them; not exactly human, I might add. And don't get me started about their prayers and false profits. It seems as though ever since Karras has been defeated, ahhh the Priest so it just gone to crap.
Hammerite 4: And see what our weakness hath gained us, crime and sin reached to the very hights of the city!
Hammerite 1: Tis been this way since the renovation. Thinkist thou that we shall take their burden? There's not strange in a pump or gear to us.
Hammerite 2: If there be a path to return by, I see it not. They who lead the city are blind to the folly of their ways. There are changes only for the worst, these days.
Hammerite 1: Our stregth and resolve, tis not what it once was.
Hammerite 4: Twill be there lost, when they come of age and know not how to accomplish out of consiquences!
Hope this helps.:thumb:
