I am playing this mission (on Death Wish difficulty) and I want to tie up some loose ends.
1. There is a door in the Mechanist base I have not been able to open: to the bathroom next to room across stairs. It seems like the bathroom is occupied (door gets closed as soon as it starts to open). Is there a way to get this person out and get in there?
2. I solved the Music Angel Statue puzzle. This opened a small room in the Library. Only thing in there was a switch I could turn off. What did this do?
3. Loot. I miss over 900 (about 10%). Where can that be? I have:
- found all 3 secrets
- scored 10/12 pickpockets (and I think I missed to grab a purse as I knocked out a guard, and one is probably the classic bug, so I guess all 12 pickpockets are accounted for)
- picked up both a Golden Hammer and a Golden Mace
- looted Haunted Prison. I found a silver nugget embedded in the cliff wall on the way down there, and two gold nuggets in a jail cell. Is there anything else here?

I bet you cannot discover the way to secure the gas chamber without this thread.
I did! Found the switch, and when I couldn´t find anything nearby it opened, I figured there was a chance the gas chamber would now be safe.

That enables you to get the golden mace without setting off the alarm on the other side of that place. :thumb:
For that bathroom door...
You're not suppose to get in there.:p
Great job on the loot BTW. :D

Ah, I did it in the wrong order, then. I had already grabbed the mace by then. First time I got blown to bits picking it up, but then I brought a regular mace and put it on the pressure plate before picking up the golden one.
As for the loot, I am now up to
8085/9000. Found some more scattered coins. I wonder if I miss a big stash somewhere, or there are just many pieces extremely well hidden...
(BTW, I am slowly working on the Haunts, since I think I can comb the place better when they are not there. When I kill one, I need to flee out and wait a long time for the others to calm down before I can continue. I have killed four by now; three are still standing.)
Also, big THANKS for the Forest of Despair mission! It is one of the best 'adventure' type missions I have ever played.

I'm trying, but I just don't have the time I use to have when I made the first one. But I am working on it.:p

Hi there
Another great mission but a walkthrough would be good. Could someone please post one?
I am finding many fan missions but some of them there is no help at all for them.
There seems to be a lot of walkthroughs for smaller missions but not the longer ones.
Thanks

Hmmm... I should really try to at least give out some loot lists. But yeah. I should make a walkthrough for my FMs. It's just that I don't really have much time to do so.

This thread REALLY should have been broken up into one separate thread for each mission! This has been done before and it makes it SO much easier to peruse! @@
Now, to my first of many eventual questions:
(damn but this one could'nt half use a walkthrough just like Elevator Mission T2 and Ruins of Originia did!)
In the far NE corner of the grassy area outside (past the far South door and the two patrolling guards and the mechanist arguing with a lampost must be a Hammerite lampost and he's trying to cajole/proselytize it into going Mechanist! :p) there's an odd little white square stone/thing that highlights, what's that all about?
(oh yah, the thing I mean is also past the two dead Mechanists - maybe the Mech was chewing out the lampost for not providing enuff light? "Verily, if twas wrought by mine own brethren thou wert, then thine light would have sufficed to light the way so mine two brethren over there mayhaps would not have been oh so cruely unrooted")
Hey Fingers - looks like Ricey has'nt done this one yet!
btw - why in the wide world of Thief do Mechanists use Pagan phraseology? ("unroot you"), specially since Pagans are anethema to the Mechanists?
Question #2:
In the haunted library there's a big honking (gem?) on a table, says there's some force holding it there - what's that all about?
also - I only frobbed one book in library and secret door was revealed - what does other book do? and what's with the first red force field i can't pass?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, looks like I am finished for now, seeing as how I am utterly at a loss as to what next! Went as far as I could go thru "the long narrow path" on the right,
(the left path that leads to some vamp be-yatch (with a sword no less) is a no go cuz of the floor's bad manners in collapsing and dumpin ya into yet another freakin zomb pit!
if I were Indy I'd bet they'd frikin be snakes! :grr:)
past red force field I can't go thru, to an alter with some line gobbledygook I have NO freakin idea what it means, and into a room with two sleepin zombs and a big poppa daddy BBQ brazier thingy!
AM SOOOooooo con-fu-sed!
(gee, did my travel agent screw up and send me back to Originia by mistake?)

Look for a button
on the brazier thingy.@GORT: With some major help (Dromed diving) from Freddy Fox, I´ve made a lootlist for the whole campaign. I sent it to Jason at (
www.thiefmissions.com) but he hasn´t included it in an update yet, and has not updated the site since october. If there is interest and if it´s OK with you, I can upload it somewhere (it´s an Excel file) and link to it from here.
