Chrome itself is refusing saying virus detected and no other info given... I was able to use firefox to download it... the built in updated was stopped by my AV (Malewarebytes).

Ridiculous and infuriating. What can I even do? :(

I scanned a clean 1.9.0 x64 folder with Malwarebytes, nothing was found.
I tried to download 1.9.0 with Chrome and it popped up with an alert saying "This file isn't commonly downloaded and may be dangerous". I was still able to download it by clicking the "Download suspicious file" button. So at least there's that. But this has to be a joke. A file is suspicious because it "isn't commonly downloaded"? HOW CAN IT BE COMMONLY DOWNLOADED WHEN IT WAS JUST UPLOADED YESTERDAY, GENIUS?! Christ on a stick. Even leaving that aside, exactly how many downloads does Chrome want? 10,000? 100,000? Excuse me for not being Steam. (I use Firefox myself so I haven't run into this ludicrous nanny crap myself)
I also started a free trial of Malwarebytes real-time protection and updated a clean v1.8.0 to v1.9.0. It didn't block it for me, so I don't know what's going on there. The auto-update is bog standard. It gets the latest version and changelog from the update repo on GitHub, downloads the updated version using the exact same link as you'd get by clicking on the latest release manually, extracts it to a temp folder, backs up the existing files, then places the new updated files into the current AngelLoader folder and restarts the app. I don't see how else I'm supposed to do it, it's an auto update, what do they want?
Sorry for the rant but this just really, really, really pisses me off. Is it that I'm not a big company? Is it that I'm not paying $1000 a year to sign my free app? Argh!!!!

Maybe you have overly aggressive settings in Chrome or your AV. I dunno what else to suggest :(

Fen, according to my computer's clock and the timestamps of the forum, your posts arrive here about one hour before you actually write them. Obviously, you bend space and time, and this must be the reason for all this.:laff:
Seriously, there's so much bullsh... erm, bull droppings reported and decided by computer programs that the user should be able to deactivate or override almost any automated part of software activity. This is the most important thing about automation: It must not rule us, but rather the other way around.
Boy, are we going to have fun once we become flooded with all this KI stuff...:tsktsk:

In the meantime I guess try to add your AngelLoader folder to the exclude list in Malwarebytes and Windows Defender too for good measure, maybe that'll help some. I'm not familiar with Chrome so I don't know if Malwarebytes integrates with it, or if it has its own AV settings or what, so I don't know how to fix the download there. meh.

What's wierd is it used to do the thing where you could tell it to download anyway.... not anymore with my Chrome.
