I recently read "Angels & Demons" and I am about 1/3 through "The DaVinci Code", and it really reminds me of the Keepers in Thief and how the "underground group" of scientists have great power and connections in the society. It kind of relates the Keepers and the Metal Age electricity and mechanics. Who which the Catholics (The builders)are enemies against.
For those who haven't read them, I'd say they are worth reading, no matter how factual or non-factual the author has made them. They are fiction, but use points about real conspiracies and possible underground groups that you can actually find in history books, as well as current events like the creation of Anti-matter and the Popes death, which happened after this book was written so its eerie in that sense, but its purely coincidence, not meant to be like Nostrodamus' preachings. But it is a good read for thief fans because of how sneaky the characters in the book feel. Just once I was looking for the mention of Garrett.

The characters fell short in Da Vinci Code, but otherwise the book is an ok read.
By the way; since when have Hammerites been the enemies of Keepers?

Well enemies of the Mechanists, who were more into science than believers in the builder. There's a relation somewhere im sure. ;)

There's no relation.

I was quite irritated by The Da Vinci Code; we know a ton about Da Vinci, as we have a lot of his journals and notes, as well as public records of his time, but they just got his character way off.
Every 5-10 years or so a similar book comes out and causes a stir; I still remember when it was Holy Blood, Holy Grail.

I just read the Da Vinci code, and its strangely similar to some of the Dark Mod campaign stuff I've written... :erg:

Am I the only one who saw the bodies laying all over the streets in TDS after the Keeper Assassins were released?
Apparently the Keepers are enemies of all moving creatures.
BTW, I also just finished A&D and am 1/3 through Da Vinci. They're both pretty good reads, though I recommend a strong imagination for the last 10% of A&D. I found myself re-writing the ending in my head cause Brown dropped the ball big time (in my opinion).
Anyway, yeah, Keepers rule!

Ya, as a guy at my work put it, the ending is quite "hokey" (for lack of a better term) But a good read nonetheless

I read Da Vinci Code, but not Angels and Demons. Da Vinci Code is a totally pedestrian thriller which is mostly just one long chase scene. If it were not for the controversial subject matter and the fact that some people decided this piece of fiction was somehow based on fact, it would have sold about 10,000 copies and wound up in paperback hell. I had a good idea that the story was just a bunch of hype, saved my money, and picked it up at the library when I came up on the waiting list.

let me tell you one thing, and i dont mean to be sarcastic or mean or anything, but you can relate the Da Vinci Code to literally anything
