Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but... Did you know that .an8 files were just scripts?
LarryG recently sent me a couple of .an8 files but without the textures. No prob, since he knew I already had those. Except, when I tried opening them up, Anim8or had his paths embedded. Even recreating the pathnames wouldn't work because he had a drive letter that mismatched my machine.
Pop open the old text editor and, Voila! I'm staring at a very long script, complete with the pathnames and textures. Do a little FIND and REPLACE. Save. BAM! I'm happier than a fox in a chicken house.
OK, Yandros. Tell me that Anim8or has that function built in and I'm gonna go back to doing DooM levels. :p

They're in plain text format, but that's not the same as a script. I'm not sure of the precise definition, but I think a script is a set of instructions that a program can run, and that aren't built in to the .exe. Anim8or does have a scripting feature.
That said, it's a nice discovery. It never occurred to me to open an8 files with a text editor. I always assumed they'd be unreadable like bin files.

Same here, and I don't know of any shortcuts Terry, so good find! :D
