Sensitively put, Jason. I'm sure that thought would be great consolation to her parents. I can see you really thought your asinine response through.
Also, shouldn't this thread be in CommChat?

Ummm... no one is blaming video games in this article.
Explanation != blame

I expect it's going to come out as murder sooner or later.

Well, if her parents are that bad, she wasn't going to turn out so great either. You can argue whether genetics or environment play a bigger role in someone's development, but neither of them were apparently really great in this case.

The truth hurts, Pardoner.

Whatever the truth is, it doesn't bother Jason that much.

Ah yes, but then that wouldn't provide such a reactionary topic title.
From someone that used to moan constantly about rssbot topics it's ironic that he is now creating his own.

Fuck off Dan Knott. The RSSbot thing was a joke.

Obviously if the parents had taken their child to the shooting range this wouldn't have happened. Safety and responsibility are (Or should be) the most important part of owning a firearm, doubly so for homes with children. Video games had nothing to do with this tragedy.

Hey, genius - the kid was 3! :p Sure, just march them out to the shooting range. Don't forget the child booster chair.
In any case, this is the the lamest "news" story ever reported. The only connection to video games is the mother saying she
assumed the kid thought the gun was a wii remote - she has no way in hell of knowing whether this was true or not, or what the kid was actually thinking. You could connect video games (or anything for that matter) to any homicide with that loose of a connection.

I didn't say to let them SHOOT, did I? I guarantee that those kids would've needed therapy to avoid wetting themselves at the sight of a gun, thereby deterring them from using them. :thumb:
