Since we're now including game music as well, here's a pretty obvious one:
(
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leX9GLacmUU) Clint Bajakian - The Last Gunfight (from
Outlaws) vs. (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV0wPBYDQ6Y) Ennio Morricone - The Ecstasy of Gold (from
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly)
I love the whole Outlaws soundtrack (and the game!) and this track is quite obviously meant to be a tribute to Morricone, but I wonder how Bajakian even managed to get away with this. :D Still, it's a pretty awesome tribute at least!
And it wasn't the only video game to rip off that song, either: (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joq9WadIMxE) this one is from a PS1-era JRPG called Wild Arms.
