I'm excited about this one. I played the original on my Genesis around '93 or '94, I remember when the 15th anniversary came out a couple years ago but I haven't had the chance to play it.
This game is as magical as it is frustrating. I've still never beaten it. One of the hardest platformers ever, but really satisfying when you manage to solve the puzzles. Fast reflexes help.
Anybody else going to pick this up?

It's ten bucks, so probably not buying it. I do remember reading about this game in Nintendo Power and being in awe of the rotoscoped video. The game is pretty landmark and I think the graphics still hold up today. I'd be interested in some very high-res art from this game, and a high-quality (

yes, because an additional $4 will automatically put you in the poor house
In all seriousness it's an indie game title and the original designer appears to still hold the rights to it, so he'd likely be seeing some of the profit.

Well, no, it's not that, it's that ten bucks will get me more game on GOG than Another World offers. I'd actually pay $3-4 for the extras, like buying an artbook for the game. It's just a game better suited for a coffee table than a game controller, unless you're having a minor nostalgia fit (which is what made me buy MDK2, play it for half an hour, then set it gently back down).
And, at risk of belaboring things, $10 wasn't too much for me to invest in (
http://www.blendogames.com/flotilla/) Flotilla, a new, indie game with play mechanics I have an interest in seeing develop further. Another World is an adventure game IMO, plenty of those around already.

Oh man, I played WAY too much Flotilla in the first 24 hours I bought it. Its scope (as of now) is limited enough to limit replay value to a point, but it's definitely worth the $10.
As far as AW, great game but holy crap is it hard. I got stuck in one sequence (where the two aliens comes at you from opposite directions) that requires crazy reflexes and a whole lot of luck. Sigh.

$10 seems high. $5 is about right, imho.

Just good shield management. If this is later in the game, I remember putting up one shield in each direction, refreshing the first shield, then shooting out the guy in the rear. I played through the game for my first time not too long ago on the Sega CD, but I haven't gotten around to playing the Heart of the Alien part.

I heard so many good things about this game, but I only played it for like half an hour, there's no nostalgia factor in it for me so I'm not going to buy it. Now Flashback on the other hand, if they released that on GoG, I might consider a purchase. I had lots of good times with that game.

Not Fade to Black though I'd wager. I completed it but now have no memories of it at all.

Now a Flashback + Fade To Black combo, that I can get behind. I vaguely remember some serious plot holes in FTB, though it hardly mattered. It wasn't bad for being an 3rd person action adventure game, but this is some serious nostalgia talking.
Seriously, I remember taking the Gold Box version home from CompUSA, feeling like I'd discovered another country because I'd bought it for $3.
