That's not high praise.
Yes, hence why that sentence is structured to tell you it isn't.

Apparently the writing is lacklustre (unsurprisingly). That's a deal breaker for me as I found the gameplay boring. Bioware lives in name only (again, unsurprisingly). *insert image macro of relatively recent staff departure headlines here*

I fully expect that Bioware will be closed within the next 5 years and Dragon Age 4 never to see the light of day.

I'm apparently getting Anthem for free with the new laptop I just bought, when it comes in stock & is sent. I was watching some videos of it and wasn't feeling it. Looked railroaded and ridiculous. Some of the art direction was nice. Since it's free, I'll probably play enough of it to get the gist & I'll report back then.
(Also getting Battlefield V, which was also kind of depressing to watch around the time I saw the throwing knives coming out, nevermind the culture of multiplayer insanity isn't for me to begin with unless it's with a small group of people I know.)

Sure you wouldn't rather just keep those hours of your life you'll never get back?

I think I can get the gist in the first 30 minutes. It's pretty, anyway.
And I actually don't have that many games that can put the new GPU to the test.
I'll be content just for a little eye candy before going back to some other games.
Actually been getting into Caves of Qud recently.
Nothing like getting a new 17" gaming laptop with a top-end GPU just to play a game literally rendered in ascii.
(The writing, sound design, & world simulation are fantastic though. About as opposite as you could get to the trend that Anthem represents.)
