I've been through a bunch of computer-courses and schools but none directly connected to animating. The last school I was in was a year-long webdesign course. Part of the course was using Flash and I'd been animating (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/56017) short movies in Flash for years, just for fun. So when the teacher saw my awesome animating skills he hooked my up with a friend of his who was just starting an animation studio. I showed the guy my Flash-animations, he was impressed, figured my 2D animating skills would probablly transfer to 3D. I was hired as an intern for half a year while I learned the ropes of 3D Studio Max, and then got full-time employment after that. I was the first employee, now, a few years later, we're 5 people at the studio.

So, in short: I got lucky. I stumbled into it. And my portfolio certainly had a lot more to do with me getting the job than any degree.

And I'm not terribly good at math either, wouldn't say you need it much for animating.

Anyway, you are animating, as a hobby, right? Flash, 3D, stop-motion?

Sheridan is a great school if you're going to study animation. It might be a college, but it gives out degrees for animation, illustration, etc. It has a really good reputation, especially because of its animation program.

Be prepared to live in the shithole that is Oakville, though. God, I hate that place.
