What's your skill level, dethtoll? I'm pretty much just starting to learn the game and don't want to challenge someone if I'm just going to get utterly destroyed. I don't mind losing I'd just rather it not be a blowout ya know?

If you end up frustrated, try to get hold of a cheap copy of Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition - the tutorials that come with it are really useful - I feel like I'm playing far more thoughtfully now.

I hate that damn interface. How do I find the ttlg group? Can't see it anywhere despite having joined it.

Yeah it's hard to find things. You can find the ttlg group by going to Home (the house button on the top right) and selecting Groups & Teams. You can find your current games by going Home -> Online Chess. These 2 "short" cuts have been helpful for me.

Haha, I hope you guys can read "take one of my irritating knights" to what he really means (even in giving advice he's manipulating ;) ). I noticed that 2/3 of SubjEff's checkmates involved the same piece, so early in my game with him I charged my knights right into them and miffed him so much he cried "Horse genocide!" in protest.

And that's not manipulation! Look at all my games - I use knights a lot, which was went I moaned when I lost them both.
