I meant you lost your bishops when I kamikaze'd my knights to get them. (I didn't mention them to invite people to actually look at the game to know what I was talking about.) It's true you use your knights a lot too, but in your early games at least you were checkmating with your bishops an awful lot, and you like the Queen-cover trick.
My schedule is in limbo right now with lots of events going on.
When things settle down I can start back on some games.

If you want to practice, without playing an opponent.
Chess.com has 2 nice feature to practice your chess abilities.
On the green topbar, there is an option "learn". (The "home" button is all the way on the right on this bar).
The "learn" button has 2 nice features.
1) Tactics trainer. Solve 3 chess problems per day. Doesn't require much time (if you see the solutions). But you can do 3 problems per day maximum.
2) Chess Mentor. You also get chess problems. But much more detailed. You are given a position from a real game. Then you have to find the best move. If you pick the wrong move, the Chess Mentor explains why it wasn't the best. If you can't find the best move, you can get hints. Usually you have to find 3-5 best moves in a game. Very useful. And great fun, imho. The problems are a mix of positional and tactical situations. Enjoy.

LF - I'm trying chess mentor now - it's really good and I will probably pay some money to carry on with it.
It's not dissimilar to the Chessmaster tutorials though, which feature three separate courses by different grandmasters, each courses containing hours of separate lessons. I'm still rubbish, but I can feel myself getting better.

Gaaaah. Who is this Gryzemuis?
Al_B on 5/7/2013 at 17:47
LittleFlower. I really enjoyed my game with him even if I came a cropper (again).

I split a couple of blitz games with him and came near to losing both of them. He's a force to be reckoned with.

You lost the first one. :p But only on time.

We both had 1 rook and 3 pawns, and the position was kinda even (with Black (you) having a minor advantage). I just had no clue how to attack your French defense. But I did a decent job defending against your attack.
The second game you won. Fair and square.

I thought I had defended my position in early middlegame. And that there was little risk of you getting to my king. Your g- and h-pawns blocked your own rooks. Only after playing 21.a4 I realized you could sacrifice your Bishop on h4, breaking the position open. I was planning to play Rh8 on my next move, but it was too late. :) Nice attack. I resigned because I thought you would play Qg7. I didn't see my Ne8 defending g7. It wouldn't have mattered, because Rxg6 is overwhelming too.
Subjective Effect, I'm not a regular here. I just lurk here once in a while. Since 1999, when I played Thief. I guess I registered later (with my old Unreal Tournament nick, LittleFlower, meant to piss off aggressive FPS players). The recent Thief4 activity got me back.
I wasn't planning on joining you guys, but you asked me to join you. :)

I just figured you saw Rxg6 when you resigned. I still feel fortunate to have won that one. Good games, both of them.

Okay, now no one can tell me I'm unconventional compared to LittleFlower. That's just some mental method. It's so left-field, I love it.
