Just curious. Are there any modern missions for Thief 2? Like modern city levels or space levels that dont take place in old times.??

Lots, actually. Here are some that I remember offhand, though I haven't played them all:
- Cardia1 has made a few like that, including Mechanist Facility and Playground of Doom. There is also John Dosio's Compound. Also, the first mission in his Three Distinct Adventures campaign takes place on a space ship.
- Sliptip's Kill Factory II: Escape from the Planet of the Robots.
- BG Taffer has several, including The Space Project, a campaign with three missions (Skylab, Walkin' on Mars, The Strange Temple). Also his Walkin' Da Moon!.
- 4th Planet by The Independent Thief
- William The Taffer's Space Thief.
- The fourth mission in frobber's Keeper of the Prophecies campaign is called Oracle of the Prophets and takes place on an asteroid.
- The Strife campaign by Ricebug is based on the original PC game and has a lot of modern elements. Also by Ricebug, Doom and Thork.
- Qolelis' The Sun Within and the Sun Without also takes place on an asteroid, though it isn't exactly "modern".
- While not exactly "modern", you might enjoy Sterlino's The Flying Age campaign. You do get to fly an airplane and ride in a dirigible.
There are probably many others but I can't think of them at the moment. I will post more if I remember them. Meanwhile, these should get you started.
Also, someone (I can't remember who) made a Batman mission using DromEd but I don't know the name of it. And I remember someone else doing a modern city mission that was really difficult but I can't remember the name or author of that one either. I'm sure someone else will come along who does.

I think that the third mission in GORT's campaign "Rebellion of The Builder" is very modern mission and has a lot of modern day elements. It's definitely something to play if you want something close to our times.

Yeah, that might be the one I was referring to with my last comment.

The Batman mission was by Independent Thief, you can get it on thiefmissions.com.

There's a T2 mission where you play as a detective in a somewhat "modern" setting. It's name is escaping me.
Ah, just remembered: "Resurgance: The Ancient Crown"

I think in "Rebellion of the Builder" (If that is the one I am thinking about) it has you starting out in a car parking lot! There are cars there. You cannot ride in any, but they are there for decoration.
By the way....I just love the way the guards act if you get into a fight and damage them....instead of running away they point at you as they go backwards really, really fast! Hilarious!
I laughed so hard I was crying the first time I saw them do that.

There are also John D's Deep Trouble campaign and "Elsewhere" from belboz's TTGM.
