Sometimes guards say to themselves "Must have been one of those grubbers again." after hearing a noise and then calming down. Any ideas from anyone about what a "grubber" might be?

no clue - maybe some type of bug, like a grub?

Possibly a homeless person.

Possibly some sort of verminous rodent or small mammal.

You would think that if a grubber was a homeless person, the guards would be slightly perturbed about hearing one in the manor.
I doubt they'd just say "Oh, it's just a bum" and allow them to wander around inside whatever it is they're guarding!

That's why it's some bug or something

Maybe this 'bum' lived there as a servant.

<br />Well, you know, there are a lot of continuity errors with what the gaurds say. Like;
Guard standing
inside<br />"Wha'd I see there!?!?"<br />"Hmm, must of been the wind I guess..."
So, technically a grubber could still be anything. Either that, or it's another made up word like
taffer!
